Bobby, now is the time for you to step up. This is a league game vs a hated (by us) opponent in a big media market. We have been supporting you for years in spite of disappointing numbers for DC United. We watched with joy your performances in the youth World Cup. We desperately want to watch you perform in the Swamp on Saturday.

    Are you up to it?

"I need the man in Black- he bested you with strength, your greatness, he bested me with steel- he must have out-thought Vizzini- and a man who could do that can plan my castle onslaught any day!!! "- Inigo Montoya from the Princess Bride

Time to link the past with the present - and earn your share of respect within DC's tradition. Ben and Jaime are there to add elder fuel to the fires of the rivalry, time to bring the Fear of facing the team in Black back to the league. You guys are atop the standings, and playing some inspired ball. Time now to focus and bring it on a National stage, and seperate yourselves from the dreaded Jersey Scum.
Good luck, here's to 3-nil to United!!!

    Vamos, Vamos United!!!

i have rooted and rooted for one mr. convey. In my own humble, personal opinion, if he does not bring it on saturday, I shall relagate him to Sucksilvania, where suck is the national language and everybody their is a columbus fan.

Edit- holy smoke(pun), my post count! On my way to get lifted right now!

Now that he has reached "Hottie status" he is doomed at underachievement for the rest of his career :D

But seriously I remember a game in Dallas last year where Bobby stepped up and played the best half of soccer he has ever played for United...Bring that on Saturday Bobby!

For a guy who reacts in such an animated way to teammates who don't provide him with passes when he imagines himself to be wide open in front of the goal, it sure was amazing to see him miss a wide open net vs. SJ.

Please step up Bobby. You're not EPL quality quite yet. Please prove it to us.

    Bobby,

You are currently way overpriced in MLS Fantasy Soccer. Please do not miss any more open goals, except against the Chicago Fire next week.

    Thanks,

    Matt (ranked 26th)

Bobby, you are one of our team of 5 midfielders who have played very well together the first two games. Please keep that up and do not try to do too much by yourself on Saturday.

    Dear mcontento,

My horrible play keeps getting me capped by Arena and offers from European teams. And it keeps me in the starting lineup, too.

Why don't you quit criticizing me on internet soccer boards and move out of your parents' basement?

    Thanks,
    Bobby

Apart from the miss on opening day, Convey looked great in that match. He also looked pretty damned good against LA, especially considering that the LA midfield was hacking the hell out of him.

He brings his A game no matter which uniform he puts on.

Actually Convey's form has dipped imvho. He's still worthy of a EPL offer, I hope it comes because imvho he's really done all he can at this level. I'd love to see him get better and really expand his repertoire on a bigger stage.

Well then, Thierry Henry sucks too, and should be confined to playing in mcontento's parents' basement.

Convey is a hard worker and shows excellent field vision. With experience he has learned when to pass the ball and when to attempt a dribble through the opposition. (Guess he got tired of getting hammered to the turf.)

I think Bobby plays better when surrounded by better players, as evidenced by his play for the Nats. Since DCU as a whole is playing better, more energized soccer, I'm hopeful he's really going to take the reins of the team this year.

To get this thread back on track ---

Bobby, please bring it and bring it hard on Saturday. We desperately want to see you succeed. Keep up your good play and then pick it up a notch. Scoring a goal would be a bonus!'

Dear Bobby, I think you should know two pieces of advice that i have been given. 1) When criticized, considered the source. Listen to your coaches and not some lard-a**es posting on an internet message board. 2) Do your best; that is all we can expect.

Nowak has given you the reins this year Bobby - keep distributing the ball and pushing forward with pace. Hope to see you turn the corner on the club level this year.

    Dear Bobby:

Mediocrity passes for greatness amongst some of the posters here. If you really are half as good as some say you are then do it so there will be no reason for this debate. Maybe do something that contributes to the win, like a goal or an assist or, even, a decent corner kick. Some of the doubters are tired of hearing about how great you were in the previous games and that they just don't understand the game if they can't see that in you.

You've been given the benfit of the doubt so far. If anybody else would've missed that goal the BSers would be screaming for their head. AS George Allen once said, "Potential never won us a game."

    Peace

    Dear Bobby,
My non-soccer obbsessed friends and I watched MLS opening day to see Freddy but came away impressed with you, other than the miss. Give your normal great effort on Saturday and make a national audience and big crowd there to see Freddy leave talking about you.

p.s. Have ever considered wearing an eye-patch, it could be a good look for you.
