It looks like because of the conflict between MLS and USSF, there will be little or no advertising in part of the MetroStars for the Open Cup Finals, the biggest game in Metro history. It's up to us the fans to help the Metros out. So you're asking yourself, but what can I do? Well, you can go to http://www.metrofanatic.com/mf/other/campaign.jsp and fill out a form which will be then emailed to local newspapers and tv stations. Show them YOU care. It might not be much, but it might help.
What exactly is the conflict? How is that two organizations who want and need exactly the same thing cannot work together?
Neither of them are willing to foot the bill on promoting it or getting the word out about it. Both of them think the other should be doing the promo. You may not expect it if you live somewhere other than Chicago or NY, but its amazing that they simply dont care or refuse to advertise something like a CHAMPIONSHIP game being hosted by one of the participants. In fact the Metros themselves have made it known that they simply dont care about promoting this and instead were focusing on promoting the remaining home games.... SO with that note thats why the fans are doing this so that they can spread the word and not have to rely on moronic stupid front office types who have no idea what their fans think.
Went to contribute and got the following: We Want the Cup! The campaign is now closed. So many emails were sent in mere hours it was online, we believe the point has been made. Thanks to everyone who wrote!
