just heard the new Crew radio spot, the two names that I heard, Diego Walsh and Brian McBride, two people who no longer play for us. Couldn't we of choosen a time buddle scored to highlight?
Maybe they think that most of the public doesn't know that they're gone, and can lure them in while still using them as marketing tools. Who am I kidding, its probably just some spot they've had since last September and they didn't want to pay to get it updated.
I'm obviously happy that Crew are advertising ticket sales this weekend. However, I've always felt that there has been a basic inability to identify players other than Brian McBride that could potentially be popular with people who don't attend matches on a fairly regular basis. Maybe if a handful of young guys this year play out of their skins they can get a look at some marketing opportunities.
So what all does the radio promo say? I know that if I ever heard any type of Crew promo on the radio, I'd be ecstatic, even if they mentioned some guy who played for us in '96. But I guess that's just me.
I think Chelsey is way south of the Columbus market and probably doesn't get 99.7 with Stern in the morning ... I doubt there are many radio promos outside the Columbus area.
Mental note to myself... Make sure you are fully awake, or at least semi-conscious at work before posting in message forums. Ooops, the pun could have been painted on a brick and lobbed at my skull and I would have missed it this morning... Guess I'm resident dense-dumbass until a Scum or San Jose fan opens their yap here...
