People forget that. We need someone experienced next to him. Usually midfielders get better with age. He's playing like a normal 22 yr old next to a 20 yr old in midfield
It's been a slow trickle of leadership that has left the club since, really, the summer of 2021. Ramos, Varane, Marcelo, Benzema, Casemiro, Kroos, Nacho, Modric. And some of that obviously was unavoidable and necessary - players eventually age out of effectiveness, or some of them are still at their peak and say "genug" since they're Toni Kroos and they do whatever the f*ck they want - and the hope would've been that during this five year time frame that the culture that these guys instilled would've been adopted and carried on by the players who are the veterans of the club now in 2026. That hasn't been successful, this hasn't happened. The Vinicius who had Benzema keeping him in line - maybe it was rude for Benzema (much as this was meant to be kept in private) to talk about "on my mother's life, he's playing against us", but sometimes you need to hear from the leaders of the team that you're f*cking up, sometimes that's the wakeup call that gets your head screwed on straight - is now the Vinicius who has unchecked power. So much so that he helped get Xabi sacked instead of being told "he's the manager, suck it up or start packing". He hasn't only "not matured" from the 18 year old who arrived from Flamengo in 2019, he's actually regressed in his maturation now that those guys who kept him in line are no longer around to do so. Quite obviously, Carvajal and Courtois aren't enough and there aren't natural leaders and/or people Vini will listen to who are still in the dressing room. You're right, it's 100% a culture problem at this point, and it's going to take something drastic to fix this problem. Multiple sales for sure, I'm certain. The players are too powerful right now, they have Flo's ear, they're capable of doing whatever they want, all the while without backing it up with their on-field play. There's absolutely nothing likeable about our current squad.
I will keep calling him Kovacic with scoring ability, you all keep laughing at that. But I call him that as a compliment. I believe his runs forward with the balls and last ditch tackles have a function beyond highlights - they even out his poor decision making and poor spatial awareness and team play in the organizational phase, because they give the team some advantages. But what made him an actual major net positive were his goals and we took them away by throwing in Mbappe and not removing Vinicius. But Im pretty sure Jude believes that is not a problem, and he believes there is no problem actually, since you know, he doesnt really need coaching. He knows enough about the game without someone telling him to do this or that. He cant be improved. He just needs to be managed.
Players don't improve at this stage, they mostly get put into a better position to succeed. People thought Vini fixed his finishing years ago but the truth is he's a bit more confident and takes more shots now. There isn't a big change in technique and motion. Football also is a very situational sport so you don't really drill a motion in during the season as you do in sports with a narrower field of responsibility. I compare the topic around his goals to Guti. Gutis best individual year was when he was plugging in as a striker/attacking option and scored lots, but you can't live life with a midfield player being the main provider of goals. You need top striker play. Unless the guy were talking about is Messi who has 8 pichichi awards (lol)
The one thing that makes me take a step back on Jude is that his performances for England (in a structured team) is far better than what he’s showing in Madrid recently. Southgate had a structure Carsley had a structure Tuchel has a structure That could be because he had better midfielders around him at the same time.
https://packaged-media.redd.it/fnjo...00&s=86b84ffcd38fa7ea04f38e1547b4675f625b712b Apparently Jude was already feeling the hamstring before the game. Is it normal for players to play regardless of discomforts like that? I would think so, if it wasn't a hamstring. Tight hamstring means you're pretty much getting injured if you put stress on it.
Well this is what happens when the manager thinks that Jude has to play every single minute of every single game. same happened with Alonso. No one will sub this guy off ever
Played our best football without him earlier in the season......put Cebalos as CM give Arda the freedom to be closer to Mbappe and let's go Jude has never impressed as a midfielder I have no idea what his role is and what he is supposed to do...score goals, create, dribble, dictate the game etc no idea he is all over the place.....the way he keeps the ball and run into the opposition piss me off, his passing is always few seconds too late
Messi wasn't a midfielder, and his teams were regularly getting rinsed in Europe as soon as Neymar left
We have to put him in more positions to score. He still makes those runs through the middle getting in the box for a header, but nobody seems to try to find him with a cross. If you don't get that from him, then youre left with a lot of wannabe Zidane actions which when youre not Zidane end up being ballhogging or just being dispossessed. Either way killing the attack.
Those fans that whistled him when he got injured and was limping down the touchline... The worst cunts in the world
That's the kind of spineless worms who'd kick a man while he's down then jerk off to their own "passion" in the mirror. Not surprising seeing the attitude of a sub-section of same cohort in here...
🚨La lesión de Bellingham no tiene pinta que le deje fuera de competición solo un mes. Podría alargarse hasta los dos meses. pic.twitter.com/2zd5pCngRD— Ramón Álvarez de Mon (@Ramon_AlvarezMM) February 10, 2026 Ramon reporting that there is pessimism with Jude's injury. Could be closer to 2 months out rather than 1
Jude Bellingham is the highest-rated midfielder in La Liga this season 😂🥇 7.37 - Jude Bellingham🥈 7.27 - Dani Olmo🥉 7.26 - Pedri@WhoScored Like and repost massively to ruin a Barca fan’s day 🤍😂 pic.twitter.com/2FdJTbTKO5— 🅓🅞🅝🅨 🇫🇨 (@Rmadonyfc_) February 11, 2026 Impressive considering we’ve been shit and he’s not been his usual best.
"Like and repost massively to ruin a Barca fan’s day" All a Barcelona fan needs to do in turn is point to the table. The people running these accounts are either children or aim their content at children.
Out till April Another player that needs to leave, huge disapoinment since the first half of his first season .Cash in and buy actual midfielders like Wharton,Stiller etc ......Nico Paz/Arda etc are here and he is not going back to the false 9 role sell
Then within a month, Stiller will need to leave and the crying goes on and on. Nothing more satisfying that the kind of entitlement that we'll just buy our way out of this mess.
