I like that point, well articulated.

Bellingham can adapt his game to become that kind of player but he has to want it.

Jude either doesn’t want to play deeper and is ignoring Xabi’s instructions, or it’s Arda who is getting lost in his positioning and is roaming forward when he shouldn’t (which has happened previously).

They’re both occupying the same positions.

Nico Paz occupies the exact same space.

Mastantuono will occupy the same space as well if played in his natural position, which defo isn’t right wing.

he hasnt been good since december of 2023,it is almost 2026 now

SO OVERATED ,people calling him a world class midfielder ...i just cant undestand it ,what is this guy good at ?Running like a headles chicken.....he cant pass,he cant control the tempo,he cant control a midfield,he doesnt dominate games...where is the creativity ?

Without Kroos all these players are badly exposed Jude,Fede,Camavinga all trash....is it a coincidence that they are all trash in the past 2 years .....NO they got exposed

That shoulder surgery maybe fixed his pain, but he regressed immensely this year.
From my perspective he is a star player at the Vinny level, and have regressed this year. Not getting any kind of star level contribution from him.

I've been banging the drum that we have 27 AM's but I'm being ignored, people even suggesting more.

I still think Jude is class though.

One of the highest IQ players we have, however I feel he needs to become a CM.

He’s been pretty shite all around. Mr Big balls is no where to be seen on the pitch in the areas we need him most. He’s just drifting from the ball when we’re transitioning deep into attack. When we do have it, he’s static. Never moving to find pockets of space. I have no idea what position he’s playing. It’s not attack and not a box to box mf. He’s a ghost.

I think his IQ has been pretty damn low to be honest. He's holding onto the ball too long and not really doing anything of note contributing the buildup. He'll try to beat a couple players but then have to turn around and pass backwards.

He's been mediocre for almost two years.

We had the perfect spot for him, but insisted on moving him around for him to become some kind of midfield wizard that he probably envisions himself being, but probably isn't.

It's not that complicated. To paraphrase Tuchel, you learn to play in the youth teams, on that level you just have to perform or be replaced. Nobody has time to teach a 25 year old player that earns millions how to play.

On the other hand Carlo famously said he really didn't know what to do with a #10 when he first started managing.

Didn't have a clue what to do with guys like Baggio and Zidane but he "learned" despite being a lot older than 25 y/o.

The end result was that he could take #10's like Pirlo and Kroos and turn them into deep lying playmakers and he could take players like Benzema, Isco, Kroos James and Modric and build his entire system around, them playing mulitple AM/#10's all at the same time.

One of my mottos is your never too old to learn and of course you have the people who don't want to try and make excuses like ain't nobody got time for that.

Its a complex topic to discuss in general.

However i've seen him pick up the ball in the DLP role and looking very good.
Runs his socks off as well and tends to always pick a good pass when available.

the most overated player in the world imo, people calling him a world class midfielder but 90% of the time he is on the pitch he is a ghost, getting outplayed by every midfielder, not creating anything

false 9 is the only role for him in Madrid if he cant play it sell him ,we went from Alonso,Kroos,Modric,Isco,Di Maria to this .......sell

Every time a player has a quiet game some of you immediately act like he's a fraud who's never kicked a ball in his life. Stop rewriting excuses because you need a scapegoat for every loss.

At what point do we determine that he just isn’t as good as we thought he’d be?

    I think it's right now.

He's better played closer to goal as his passing range isn't elite. I still think we need to try him at a false 9. He has similar attributes that Benzema had. He's yet another player that we have that has a mish mash of qualities that don't really lend itself to their traditional position in the team.

Yeah, I’d like to see him as the no 9 with Mbappe on the left…. But no chance we’re ever seeing that.

The surgery was a mistake, atleast he had an excuse for being shit....now he is just shit

I will sell to the highest bidder in the EPL,he won't work in Madrid midfield no matter the position he just lacks the skills of Modric,Kroos,Alonso,Isco,Redondo,Guti etc

He played with one arm tied behind his back for 18 months for our badge. Now he finally fixes it, has a rocky few months while the entire squad is imploding with red cards and tactical incompetence, and you want to ship him to the EPL?

If Xabi (or you) expects him to be prime Kroos pinging 60 yard diagonals while controlling possession, that’s a system failure, not a player failure. Play him close to goal n see the difference.

He's still 22, certain posters here are insufferable. Zidane was halfway through his time in Bordeaux at that age. I agree with the ceiling-raiser analysis, or to look at it another way, he plays well with other great, creative midfield passers. He'll come good.

How exactly with Vinicius and Mbappe in the team?Bench Vini you are against that, Mbappe on the right he is against that....Jude role was killed with the Mbappe signing, even if Vinni gets sold it will mean Mbappe on the left and n9 signed........Jude role as a false 9 is not coming back

What we are left with is a mediocre midfielder supposedly good at a lot of things but in the end is good at nothing

Oh play him as a 10...what about Arda,Paz etc

    Sell

I don't see Jude being sold anytime soon.

A Vini sale would be most ideal imo. You get rid of an on field diva while opening up the left flank where Mbappe can make those runs without being clogged with another player while Jude will be closer to the box again.

It's addition by subtraction. Vini has had more than enough chances. Gg can have the backup ST role.

He’s still young. I think he’s very talented.
Half of this squad is playing out of position. He’s no different.

Do you just mean because he is playing alongside Guler? Because he often plays with two of Tchouameni, Camavinga, and Valverde behind him. And he has explicitly said he does not like playing #9.
