Football is a short career. I respect those footballers who study on the side.

You can tell who the idiots are based on their negative response to a player putting effort into becoming a better person.

Yeah a highly underperforming player being paid handsome money to do side quests for his own pleasure and distant future benefit, I don't think its the idiots here that are the problem.

It seems out of touch for Camavinga to not put maximum focus on his job after the season he just had. Maybe get out of the public eye for a while, recharge, meditate, whatever. But don't advertise yourself doing random stuff at least.

And no hes not becoming a better person by taking classes at business school, wtf is even that.

    Shut the hell up.

Sorry for being so direct but you sound like a loser. The majority of the players on that level are drunk on a yacht and you're here dunking on a guy doing something that's pretty great.

Loser talk. What are YOU doing right now, are you getting better as a person or professional? Being online talking about him. THAT'S what you're doing.

This whole "what about you" schtick is so worn out and you know it. Measuring random forum users against millionaires with their respective responsibilities is just laughable.

Not to mention how absurd it is on an anonymous board. I may be a Nobel prize winner on a sabbatical just trying to chill. You will never never know so kindly keep your assumptions to yourself.

btw you either party on a yacht or do business classes is a false dichotomy. Theres a million things you can do between. And among them there are those that make you better at what you do instead of unrelated pet peeve projects.

I wouldnt have any complaint about Camavinga doing Harvard tours like Pique did back in the day if he actually performed well. But the reality is he doesnt.

And if we are going to get personal for me getting your panties in a twist over party drugs is loser talk. Everyone has a different definition of what loser talk is, youre not any kind of moral authority - regardless of who you actually are outside of the anonymous board.

    Tldr.

    Take summer classes.

How do you know he DOESN'T train in between classes?

Oh, you don't know, but come back here with that noise about what people don't know about you. Man shut up. Sounding like a donkey with a football kit and a beer in hand "shoulda practice how tah pass instead hurhurhur" foh

Bashing a player for studying at Harvard seems surreal to me. People really just base their opinions just on the performance they see on the players once or twice a week and don't care to think about the person behind.

I know because everyone knows because hes a public persona.

I have no issue with him doing any side gig from working as a UN secretary general, through Harvard business classes, to shooting heroin. As long as he performs on the pitch. Hes paid to perform and he doesnt.

And he doesnt want to leave the club either because hes in a comfort zone. His head is not in the right place. Great for him that hes doing marketing classes. Not that great for Real Madrid. And that was the point of the sarcastic comment, which was meaningless until you came here like a white knight with your high horse moralizations as usual calling other people idiots for simple benign banter. Maybe one day you will actually get your shit together but its looking less likely with every day that passes.

You all have to know these summer Harvard “business” classes are pay for play. I lived in Boston, and know some very wealthy young adults who were claiming they went to Harvard but as an extension student. No real academic requirements, just a checkbook the right amount of connections and that’s all that’s required. Everyone who knows anything it’s not really a Harvard course load.

Yeah, Camavinga is cosplaying business mode, while Cole Palmer is actually training this summer. And no, there isn’t a place to train at Harvard that is the same that Camavinga is doing. Maybe at the New Balance HQ in Allston, but he’s not a NB athlete.

Yep, no place to run, lift weights or do any conditioning. The entire region is just overweight couch potatoes.

The premise that higher education should only be accessible if "he plays well", some really hateful stuff.

    Couldn't be that guy.

Good for him to try and study. But I dunno how much he would actually learn from a 4-day course.

I don't think it's that big of a deal either way.

You would be shocked how many players don't even know the basics (taxes, revenue, profit, expenses etc.)

To me any effort made to better oneself is something that deserves respect. Better this than be a victim.

Your premise that this is “higher education” is laughable. You do understand this is just a money grab from Harvard?

Camavinga would be better served at spending this summer focusing on how to be a better footballer than pretending to be a business man.

Nah. I'm not shocked at all.

Most pro athlete's (that included a former neighbor of mine) didn't care much for their education. They usually had gigantic ego's though.

I kinda agree with @4x4s here, it’s good that Cama is studying in his spare time. His form with us is irrelevant in that regard.

But on the other hand he appears to have used it as a promotional event by posting pictures of him studying, and if he did start posting the pics from inside his classroom he can expect the flak as well as the praise.

It's out of touch to study? Geez, I think 4x4s was being extremely generous and kind using the word "idiots" a few post ago....

Anyways.... Do you apply this thinking towards players who do adverts, take care of their family, watch TV, play video games etc?

    Right.

These guys are battling it about the guy taking a 4-day course at Havard.... not about him going on drunk whoring bings on a yacht or island somewhere.

Just look at the names. It's the same people always with some miserable outlook looking to make the worst out of every situation or play devil's advocate for chaos sake and nothing else.

He used the club's resources to attend Havard.. what a terrible guy!

No its not "out of touch to study".

    There are three options.

    1. Perform well and study in your free time.
    2. Don't perform well and study in your free time.
    3. Quit football and study as much as you want, get a Phd if it appeals to you.

I am perfectly happy with option 1 and 3. In fact I admire him even more if he chooses 3. It means hes really dedicating himself to actual scholarship instead of taking some joke of a free course for personal advertisment purposes.

But if you played like shit for years hitting rock bottom in this one, had zero development as a player, costed us the CL, and then decided to f*ck about with some marketing course when you need to show some humility and reflection, then yeah, its "out of touch to study". The guy has zero intention to leave, zero ambition to improve, and hes practically milking the club right now. So yeah the more you people are parroting these education and self improvement empty platitudes, the more pathetic it looks.

At least hes joining some elite alumni there.

I get your point but his point is valid too.

if you’re not performing, maybe focus on being a better player first. I mean, that’s what the club pays you for.

I'm pretty sure Real Madrid is not holding any practices right now.

He's on vacation, like any other player not on international duty and like any other human being in the workforce that's on vacation. If you feel like that's OK, I hope your boss calls you in for a shift on your vacation free off charge.

This is some absurd reality that just because he's a football player he doesn't deserve rest or time off.

Insane. Makes it even better that Hendrix22 was here defending players caught on camera doing drugs but taking a class is what gets him upset. Haha.
