I don't think he'll get it here but I think his career go to a radically different level if he has someone properly coach him on his weaknesses.

Cama's ceiling is sky high....Xabi needs to make him a priority project and help him remove the obvious weaknesses in his game.

I was going to say something like "Camavinga should be in his prime and I'm still not sure where his best role is or where he fits with the other midfielders..."

And then I looked up his age and see that he is still just 22 years old lol nuts. He can still have another 10+ years here if he can put things together

Just 22 is actually nuts. If he stays healthy Xabi should be able to get the best out of him. His attitude seems great and the talent is undeniable.

Clearly I'm on the opposite side from most people here on the Camavinga issue. Its not the first time. From what I have seen so far I just don't think he has the capacity to put things together, based on the rate of progression he has demonstrated in his development. I get it, hes a nice guy, cool and likeable, on occassions fun to watch too. Its easy to root for him. But his weaknesses are too big to overcome for him to become worldclass.

I honestly don't understand how people say he had a good game yesterday. For the position he played he was completely outmatched, outsmarted, out"techniqued". He had to randomly appear on the right wing to make some kind of impact because he was a liability in the middle.

Time will tell and obviously I hope Im wrong, but I have seen a lot from him for a long time now and I just don't believe anymore. Even if he shows signs of improvement, he just gets injured too soon and is back to square one. I'd rather cut the losses in the summer. Unpopular opinion I know, but it is what it is.

Tell us, which midfielder in League 1 or Serie A that is 18, that we’re missing out on right now?

What is the concensus on this guy?

I'm close to giving up. I don't think he has a footballing brain to play midfield. Last two performances have been abismal. He's a sub, a decent player to agitate the match with his athleticism when the match is broken but he can't be considered starting material.

I’ve always been his biggest fan of his game, but he’s been really underwhelming this season. I think if he left after this season, I wouldn’t be surprised - but he’d be an upgrade over Ceballos in the deep bench option.

He's nowhere near a starter level. He's closer to a bench level player at this point.

He makes to many dumb turnovers and fouls.

One of the most useless players on the squad. I’d be pissed if he’s still here next season.

Has anyone been great this season? This is what makes it hard for me to make a proper judgement on what players should be here next season. I'm very comfortable saying Vini should go because of his attitude. But everyone else? Not too sure.

Yeah, I’m in this boat. Really tough to judge because almost everyone is in shit form and the squad balance is off. A few shrewd moves and we can get things clicking. Most importantly we need to keep players healthy to get better understandings pf the dynamics that can work gping forward.

it's very concerning that he hasn't improved in a single aspect in 4 seasons...

Cama is loved, if his name was Ferland everyone would want him sold tomorrow, some are favoured some are not, for me he's too laid back and not aware enough on the pitch and takes far too many risks/touches considering where he plays, a few good moments don't change that, hopefully there is improvement and consistency towards the end of the season, i'm sure he'll have some spectacular moments though

He'll be the most prime candidate to hit the bench when everyone is healthy. Too bad he hadnt improved his weaknesses.

Even in the last game, he have up a dumb foul on the edge if the area when the CB's had the attacker marked.

I feel Camavinga will always struggle playing as CM. His constant lapses in concentraton and propensity to give away cheap fouls in dangerous positions will always be his downfall at any big club. I love the player just feel its one of those cases where had he found a different position at a younger age he'd have a much bigger future.

The curse of a tweener who never found a coach who grabbed him by the arm and showed him the best way for him to have a successful career.

I agree that he has not shown us much improvement in any department since he's joined.

He has Ancelotti who managed to bring the best out of Vini. The team doesn't like manager's who "teaches" them things. So i dunno how Camavinga should have been developed any different here.
