He needs to be more careful with his tackles. Still a lot to learn, but one of our most exciting players, no doubt.

    He was excellent today.

Courtois thinks 2-3 weeks. Sure hope it’s not longer than a month.

Camavinga has proven how great he is. We should be building around him and Jude in the MF.

Ship Tchoumeni off and sign another player (not Zubimendi) who brings something different to the mix.

We had 30% to 40% ball possession yesterday, even while it was 0-0, odd day to post this.

I don't blame the midfield for lack of possession yesterday.

It was the forward line being wasteful and turning the ball over almost immediately. Mbappe, Guler and Brahim got caught up with the pace that Liverpool set for the game. Instead of slowing it down and keeping the ball they were wasteful, running at 2 or 3 players, and looking only for the forward pass instead of recycling the attack.

No midfield player attempted less passes than Camavinga on the entire field. 28 passes to 59 for McAllister, 65 for Gravenberch, 59 for Jones. 183 attempted passes for Liverpool's three man midfield, 110 total pass attempts for Modric, Camavinga and Bellingham.

    What are we saying here?

When we pass the ball less, we're asking players to do more with less.

We shelled up and counterattacked once more. Just like vs Barca and against other difficult teams.

How can our midfielder add more attempted passes if the first thing the forward were thinking of was running straight at a Liverpool player?

Poor movement by our offensive players…especially Mbappe…. Everyone wants ball to feet….

We did the same against Dortmund in the final.
Think we might be getting somewhere with this.

But it wasn't though was it. It wasnt just a better performance that game but a better result too. We were outclassed this game. Probably had a couple of shots on target. It wasn't remotely the same.

Maybe it also highlights the difference in quality between the opponents. Ther's been several games this season where i felt like the opponent gave us a challenge and should have no business doing so.

I'm starting to think that the lack of good attacking fullback play is what's doing us in. As a result, our attacking players are often having to beat 2 to 3 players to create danger unless they can run behind the defense. Need more participation in the attack as opposed to just movement imo.

The problem is mostly with Mbappe because he has made Bellingham and Vini uncomfortable and less productive, him coming in the summer has caused a massive uneccessary headache.

Almost the entire defense is makeshift, castilla and/or backup options except Tibo and Rudiger, although getting a decent backup RB and CB should have been priorities in the summer can't really have predicted another season where 2 starter blow out their knees.

So you're basically calling them weenies, who in order to completely unsettle them, only a single person was necessary?

The reasons would be tactical and not emotional I assume.

Maybe even both. Everyone knows Mbappe is the Presi's favorite son, the prodigal son returns home.

So on the field they've got a guy who keeps getting into others players lane and taking up their space and even off the field away from the cameras nobody can say a word about it out of fear of the consequences that would be imposed for fomenting any amount of opposition to Mbappe.

A really toxic situation could be brewing.

You're really just making shit up at this point.

Mbappé, same guy yielding penalty kicks to Jude and Rodrygo, is the one who you're painting as the toxic, selfish one.

    Give me a f*cking break.

Jude's form to end last year and his current form... is exactly what he was at Dortmund while improving at a normal pace. Was the beginning of last season an aberration?

I think he's very good now btw. You had to expect that La Liga and CL teams would adjust to the way Jude was being used. They've clogged up the holes he used to run into unimpeded.

Thats spuriousity. England was a tactical mess too and the likes of Kane and Foden struggled mightily too. Bellingham's change of role and accordingly output for Madrid was a direct consequence of shoehorning Mbappay.

People simply can't let go of the idea of putting too many chefs in the kitchen. It doesn't work, never did.

Still, to claim that Vinicius and Bellingham are unsettled makes them look like suckers.

AS with a bit of a hit piece on Camavinga saying that he's yet to mature as a player, showing signs of lack of focus and consistency, but that Carlo remains one of his biggest fans and supporters in the club.
