So let me get this straight, we are currently overshadowed by the oil and state owned clubs by their virtually unlimited spending power, yet we still get to sign the 'best players'? Is there no stopping Don Flo? Sign me up for another.
It’s really awesome work by Flo and co, especially since our wages aren’t really astronomical or anything compared to other big clubs. The prestige and glorious history sure do help. It’s really impressive though how we are retooling right now with the free signings.
In all our comebacks Camavinga is recovering balls in the centre, left wing and often right wing as well. And doing very useful things once he’s recovered them. He is key to counter pressing in the final stages of games. Such a good player to have, especially late on.
Who would've thought a 19 y/o deadline day signing would be so consequential to our season. I don't think we make it this far in the CL with Isco or Blanco coming on at the 75th min against PSG, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
A legendary player in the making (if he can stay healthy of course). He has all the tools to succeed at Real Madrid. What's exciting is that he's not only physically gifted (quick, strong, gets stuck in, ball retrieving ability, etc.), but technically even better. His first touch, short and long passing, combination play, creativity (and executing on it) and level of skill are all at an absolute elite level. What an impact he's had. Just 19 years old too, incredible! People talk about Pedri (who's phenomenal too), but this kid is at least as good in my opinion, and has been showing it for a much longer period of time.
“At least” as good? It’s like saying Benzema is at least as good as Kane. One is dominating champions league opponents and the other is getting knocked out of second tier European competitions.
Uh.... I beat that drum last summer and have beat it during this season. When people were slaughtering Zidane I was pointing to personnel issue (you as well). If Ancelotti doesn't have Camavinga to come in we would have been out against PSG.
What are you arguing here? Quite unnecessary to pick a small snippet of my extremely positive post about a player that I consider a generational talent and, consequently, have a go at me with a bit of a childish example. For the record: I consider Camavinga a better and more talented player. However, I can imagine some people thinking otherwise, in light of Pedri's breakthrough season last year (including a superb showing at the Euros). So let's agree to cut the use of popular language/examples; we're 'on the same side' on this one..
Just helping bigsoccer out. If we didn’t take out of context snippets and bash good posters for them, this website would be out of business.
Lol my brother you do love to remind us of all the ones you get right all the time and to your credit, you got this one right. I do; however, remember you wanting to move on from Luka lol. Can’t win them all
I get a lot right actually. Yet also have the ability to own when I get something wrong... and me not wanting to renew Modric was because KCM not because of the individual player. However I was in fact wrong. Modric has proven he can continue in a role if he has the right supporters around him (another thing I saw early on and fought with KCM supporters about). Honestly the best part about it is how bitter it makes some of you instead of giving the roses. People hate to give roses until the person is gone.
This kid is something else. The amount of mobility he has is incredible and really showed on that recovery that led to the penalty. He just left that city player in the dust and didn’t even look like he was trying. He’s been playing a good amount of minutes but he should slowly start taking over one of Kroos or Modric (preferably Kroos)
Still can’t believe some one of his age and skill was so cheap We are playing a different game than the other clubs
Of all the impressive things he’s done coming off the bench this season what impressed me the most was this last game against City. When he came on I thought him and valverde would sit in the middle together, we had all of KCM subbed out. But to my horror Valverde stayed right flank. This boy sat in the middle of the pitch all alone for a good 15 mins and didn’t let them through. Not only that he was starting attacking moves as well. Heroic stuff.
VJ was not that great until this season. He was already 20 years old at the beginning of the season. He had some fine display in his first season, but it was only a few months before an injury kept him from making more impact. Camavinga is actually younger than Peter, Arribias, Blanco, etc. He already should be the starter ahead of Kroos. He has a few important assists in the knockout stage of a CL.
