Well it was bound to happen. Onyewu finally got hurt being a clumsy cumbersome oaf. Not sure of the type of injury but it didnt look good. At least an MCL, possibly an ACL/PCL. Now the central defense has a real problem on its hands.

Anyone think Demerit can fill his shoes?

DeMerit can't see well enough to play right now, possibly career threatening eye injury.

Marshall or Goodson I guess. Horrible two days for us, what a shame.

That was no ligament injury. That was almost certainly a ruptured knee cap. If you look closely at the replay, you will see that there was a hole where his knee cap should have been.

I'm a Kansas U. basketball fan, and it happened to one of our basketball players 2 years ago and looked exactly the same.

He's almost certainly done for the World Cup with that injury.

I wouldnt say he wont make the world cup... especially since we are dealing the AC Milan lab... they are the best in the world at these injuries...

they had Gattuso back in training 4 months after his ACL injury

Our best backline had Gooch and DeMerit pairing. I don't know what we'll do now.

Somehow I think things would of been different if Gooch hadn't gone to Milan and DeMerit had gotten lasik instead of contacts....:(

At this point I'm just hoping he can return to the field in March and have a few months to get ready.

We're going to need DeMerit in there, we can't lose three of starting 11.

i was kidding, but the question of central defense is serious. I had all but forgotten about Demerits situation, which makes this even worse.

My guess is a dislocated kneecap...something definitely looked amiss. Why couldn't ESPN, with four commentators at RFK, get us an update???
