Gooch starts, early first half, no score yet.

Best match tracker I could find is in French.

You beat me to it. I started another thread a minute or so after yours. Hopefully the mod will delete mine. Thanks for the tracker...I haven't found another one yet.

Apparently still no score in the 15th. It seems as thought the match was late in starting due to traffic problems.

Not a problem. I had a tough time, that tracker is through the Jupiler League website. I know a bit of French, though obviously if Onyewu scores it'll be obvious to us all. :)

Long throw from Gooch is headed over by Vandooren.

Goal for Brugge, they lead 1-0.

Brugge beats an offside trap on a cross, goes up 1-0.

FC Bruges is in 1st place with 27 pts from 11 games, 9 pts ahead of 4th place Standard.

Heh! The Jupiler League matchtracker is pretty slow. Or both teams scored while I was writing that 30-second post!

1-1. Amazingly, Standard actually manages to score ...... something they surely don't seem to do enough of.

Standard on the attack and hits the post in minute 33 (Dragutinovic).

As is the case with many second-rate match trackers, the updates can be inconsistent, and you might have to hit refresh every now and then.

As far as I know this never happens in the US. Why do you think they postpone the kickoff for traffic?

I don't know why, but it happened according to the matchtracker. Traffic problems outside the stadium apparently led to the crowd being late getting inside.

It's happened to me. A massive traffic jam outside the stadium due to another event, the normal parking lot closed for parade staging. They delayed kickoff by about 20 minutes, but I was still not inside the gates when the game started.

Re: Onyewu: Standard Liege v Club Brugge - 10/29 [R]

It's to allow time for everyone to get to their seats before kickoff. It was a response to the Liverpool/Hillsborough tragedy. ---- a brief history ----

The stadium was divided into two parts in order to keep the opposing fans apart: the Liverpool supporters being assigned to the Leppings Lane End. Kick off was scheduled for 3.00pm and many of the Liverpool supporters were late arriving. By 2.45pm there was a considerable buildup of fans outside the turnstiles at the Leppings Lane End, all eager to enter the stadium before the match started. With a crowd of 5000 fans (est) trying to get through the turnstiles the police decided to open a second set of gates which did not have turnstiles. The resulting inpouring of hundreds (possibly thousands) of fans at the rear of the terraces caused a crush at the front where people were pressed against the fencing. For some time the problem was not noticed and it was not until 3:06pm that the referee stopped the game. By this time a small door in the fencing had been opened and by this route many escaped the crush - others climbed over the fencing.

The pitch quickly started to fill with people sweating and gasping for breath and with the bodies of the dead. The police and ambulance services were overwhelmed by the scale of the disaster and fans helped as best they could, many attempting CPR and some tearing down advertising hoardings to act as makeshift stretchers.

The crush ultimately took the lives of 96 people.

Gooch will not sleep well tonight. Despite his fairly good performance, he's the cause of fourth and last Brugge goal tonight.

You will have more infos when the report will be finished and posted on www.Yanks-Abroad.com

Good surprise for Gooch, Anderlecht is currently being beaten by Lokeren. This would let Standard Liege to stay close of 2nd place.

Sounds like he played well outside of the error, and they were going down anyway...so not that big of a deal.

I love hearing (seems like every game) in which Gooch also contributes offensively. And not just w/throw-ins...

He was pretty affected by his lousy pass to the keeper. Whatever, his good performace has been underlined by the press. RTBF did even say that he was the best standardman on the field.

Actually the throw-ins did not bring goals yet, Standard's attack is missing good header forwards nowadays
