I just realized that Onstad looks exactly like Mark Harelick, an actor who played a part in the Star Trek Voyager episode "Counterpoint" and was also seen briefly as a lawyer on this week's CSI:Miami.
"What has been your most memorable moment through your first five MLS games?" Geez, talk about a loaded question! I think it might have been in game two. Memorable enough to make him a SportsCenter star. Nice side step by Onstad. Fortunately, he's had some very positive memorable moments as well.
I think the B.C. boy has something to prove after the Canucks got eliminated last week... "You'll ne-ver beaaat Pat Onstad, EH!"
I only know how it starts and the tune to the first few lines. My American History teacher in high school was Canadian. He really like to sing that anthem!
It helps that 1) I'm a hockey fan 2) I've got family in Calgary and Kitchener, Ont.: My poor effort follows... EH! Pat Onstad... our keeper with safe hands, (usually) One moment of shame, but since, he's been THE MAN! With his long reach, we see him rise, the True North's best we've got, Roaming far and wide, EH, Pat Onstad, he parries every shot! Pat, keep our net... evermore goal-free, Eh! Pat Onstad! You stand on guard for we, (?) EH! Pat Onstad! You stand on guard... for WE! (I'm definitely not wedded to this... if you can come up with better rhymes knock yourself out.)
He'd probably get a kick out of that, knowing how nationalistic Canadians are. (They have little nationalism except when seen in relation to the United States.)
