There's still time to vote for Landon Donovan on ESPN.com's poll for Hottest Sports Personality/Male.
Now down to 11th place at 4.7%.

    Disclaimer: I'm a "traditional-preference" male, but a poll is a poll.

    question about the poll:
how come they have tiki barber listed but not ronde barber? aren't they freakin' identicial twins?

wait ... maybe that IS ronde. good thing they carry the visa check card I guess.

  4. Well, here we go again.. ESPN at the forefront of American arrogance.
This is a partial copy of their intro to the poll: 'In the tradition of Picasso, who said, "A genius can steal anything he needs," Page 2, in a desperate attempt to catch up, presents 16 of the hottest male sports personalities on the planet'.

On the planet!! ...Apparently, Beckham and a plethora of other well known non-American sports personalities must have taken inter-planetary trips.

Thanks for the alert, if you've got time, it'd be a good idea to keep posting, to keep the poll on the homepage

    I meant poll !! poll...

  8. Even that won't make much of a difference: the total vote count is about 170,000 at the moment.
Landon needs 2,000 votes just to move him up by 1%, and that's assuming all the other candidates are untouched.

Not surprising, considering we live in a country whose leagues crown "World Champions".

But, in ESPN's defense, they did say "sixteen of the hottest", and not "the sixteen hottest".

I've posted this poll alert on the MLS/Fans, USA Men, and Quakes boards. Please feel free to post wherever else you think is appropriate.

  10. BTW, there are about 24,000 members here at BigSoccer. Even if every member here casts a vote(highly unlikey), Landon will move no higher than the 16% level.

    Not the Baby Jesus!!!

We have to save him ....

  12. True, but I just needed some type of ammunition to gripe about ESPN. ;)

Again I will say, there's no competition...yet. World Champs is justified until then...

I'll give that every ounce of consideration it deserves from now on.

God, I wish I had said that. Instead one more vote for Landon. I'm gonna hate myself in the morning.
