From KC's $5 WCF ticket release: If KC's front office believes truly that LA is their biggest rival they above all will want to remain in the West.
I agree. This system might be easy to criticize, but it would probably be very difficult to do better.
Even though I think Kansas City should be the team to move, I'm going to sign this potition just to make sure no one suggests moving the Fire to the west. In my opinion, that move would be horrendous.
I signed your petition- although I am for a single table. I will basically sign any petition that has soccer in it.
it's all about presentation. getting it physically in the hands (and not just online) of the leadership will make an impact. Again I have no pretensions that it will work other than to tell the league and the clubs involved what the will of vocal fans is in this matter.
Good news and some discouraging news but not giving up the fight: http://www.3rddegree.net/thirdindex.cfm?page=article&show=482 This is very good, shows we made a dent in this area. IK stand by my vow that if we are Dallas' home opener S8C will coordinate a major roadtrip to Dallas for that game. (maybe as the first major trip of the 05 season) Curt Johnson voted against having Dallas move West. Peter and Greg Elliot voted for Dallas to the West. Brimstone Committee is preparing final packets to submit to the league with petitions, quotes, and letters to make their case and they should go out tommorrow. not giving up.
have everything together. made a few notes in the intro letter regarding tonights meeting. FedEx is picking up tommorrow.
Small point. TTFKATB are already in the west. Thus PW & GE voted to move KC to the East and Curt Johnson voted to move TTFKATB to the East. That being the case, I think the first order of business is for Dustin and compatriots to convince their local reps that they'd be better served by moving to the East. If I'm a decision maker, one of the first opinions I'm going to be concerned about is that of the affected parties. KC is on board. Dallas is not. That needs to be fixed. Without support of the powers that be in the front office of TTFKATB, I would expect the chances of their moving to be very slim. Better start lobbying Dustin, et al.
Dustin and the committee at large have already been as active in this as I have. Greg Elliott will be recieving a package from us just like PW, Curt Johnson, Ivan Gazidis, and Don Garber.
Considering that I was the one that wrote the petition and was the first signer, it's safe to say I'm on board. And I've been lobbying Greg Elliott. I'm not much of a salesman, so I'm not sure how successfully. Anyway, I posted my thoughts on the matter in the FC Dallas forum: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3555007&postcount=46 As an addendum, if you had told me that nine out of ten GMs would've been in favor of keeping Dallas in the West and moving Kansas City to the East, I would not have guessed that the one holdout would've been Curt Johnson. And the fact that it was Curt Johnson and that he was the only one... well, it's a bit surprising and a bit disappointing.
