Every shop is selling the same US jersey, so the "authentic" vs. "replica" issue is moot. The ONLY shop that has the correct numbers and lettering in the Onion Bag. That's why, along with a great price deal, so many people ordered from them. At present you can get either shirt with printing for $100, but after June 1st. This thread has become about the OB and their lousy communication skills. While eventually delivering a great product I'm sure many people will look elsewhere instead of doing biz with them again which is essentially a shame.
Again, I haven't bought from them this time (but have in the past in 01, 02, and 03 -- see post back in this thread), and www.soccerplus.net had the authentic numbers in the past and the photo shown on their site now looks official to me. http://soccerplus.net/productinfo.php?id=2746
Soccer.com (Eurosport) has correct numbers and lettering. You have to call them and not order the jersey from the web. The "non-official" numbers from the web cost an extra $18.00. The "official" numbers ordered via phone cost an extra $25.00.
Their customer service reps are idiots though. Here is the e-mail I sent and then received? What I sent: Hello, I am interested in purchasing this jersey from your company. What exactly is the difference between the Hero Jersey and the Dress like the pros? Is the Hero jersey have everything sown on? What I received: Dear XXXXXXXX, Thank you for your email regarding the item # 103895, the Nike USA Home Jersey Item. A Hero jersey and Dress like a Pro jersey are the same type of lettering, numbering and patches. Dress like a pro would be putting your name, and # on the shirt but have the authentic letters and #'s. Hero jersey would be having the authentic letters and #'s but having the name and # of a pro listed on the jersey. Same lettering , numbering and patches on each. The items are sown on if that is like what the authentic jersey style letters and numbers are like. I hope this answered your questions and didn't confuse you more. Please feel free to contact us again with any other questions you may have. The item is available in all sizes at this time. It will take an extra 4 buisness days to have the shirt customized. Thank you for your interest in Eurosport. Sincerely, Troy R Soccer.com Customer Service www.soccer.com 800.950.1994 -------- It's like you can't win with either company.
I ordered from their web site. Actually, I used BigSoccer's shop. Then I read a thread that mentioned that those numbers are not "official" so I called the toll free number and ended up speaking to a rep at Eurosport. They do fulfillment for BigSoccer - and a bunch of other companies too. When I spoke to the person on the toll free number they cancelled my original order and re-ordered everything with the official numbering and lettering. I had two Olsen jerseys, one blue, one white, within a week after placing my order. They were not idiots. Their customer service reps were very helpful and pleasant.
Well, you can plainly see that the info they told me was wrong. They also told me wrong info on an item I ordered awhile back.
I see that. I'm just saying that several of mine were with dishonest characters. I'm glad you had a good one but wanted to warn people of mine.
Wrong. There are 2 version of the US jersey being sold in stores. #1 - authentic replica for $70. #2 - replica replica for $45.
I went to Champs the other day, and saw they had the white jersey in stock...I noticed in the replica replica that the badge is smaller, and the stripes are also a bit thinner.
I Sent Them Two Emails After I Placed An Order On March 28. Never Got Any Responses. It Is May 17, I Am Leaving Madrid Today And Have No Idea Where The ******** My Jerseys Are. Onion Bag Sucks!!!!!!!!!!! I Told Them A Month Ago That May 12 Was A Cutoff Day For Me Receiving Mail Here. No Response. No Package. Nothing!!!!!!!! So What, Do I Pay The Extra To Have It Shipped From Madrid To Germany??? Do I Have It Sent Back To New ********ing Jersey???
To those of you who have gotten your jerseys already, are they pre-shrunk or did they shrink a bit after you washed and dried them?
I always lay flat and dry. Most of the newer style ones are essentially dry when it's done in the wash anyway.
Sorry, Palermo10. On the drying cycle, I have 2 words: "cat hair". I always dry on lowewst heat possible for 10 minutes, then hang dry. But, I have also noticed that drying on medium heat does not ruin the printing.
wash and DRIED my jersey yesterday. No shrinkage of course, its not cotton. and dried it on low heat. no problems at all.
The pre-order deal was great! Yes, it took forever, but we got them (most of us ) well before the World Cup. I think I read earlier the full price for an authentic custom jersey is around $100? The pre-order was 65 or 70, right?
I've found with my various jerseys over the years, that even 'gently' drying one will shorten the lifespan. It really beats 'em up.
SunDevil; I dont think I've ever had that problem. Some of my shirts date back to the old adidas USSF days. The problem I have run into, however, is that I'm no longer in my mid twenties and my waist is no longer in the low thirties!
True dat Brook, true dat. Since I got the new Chelsea centenary shirt and met up with you last summer I've gained 20lbs and had to order a new one from the Megastore.
I have a feeling they are going to continue doing the "Oh, we will ship them out next week FACT." routine until June 1 when they get the next batch of jerseys, then magically our status will change on around June 5..... Either that or they are ripping us off.
