Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday?

    Guys,

We know it sucks but we are on it. We had solved all outstanding issues last week and as you know the site was working fine until Sunday. We hadn't and haven't touched a thing, as it's an external issue we dont' control. HOWEVER... Since it got worse today and you are waiting for DNS to change as discussed above, we have now hard coded the entire site to the IP of that box. Until they have 100% solved the Load Balancer problem, this is where we are. It should resolve all outstanding issues, at least as they appear to you. If it doesn't, we can only say we are on it.

We appreciate your patience, understand your annoyance, and promise that we are as up to here as you.

I liked the old server better...

btw - when I logged in, or rather attempted to log in, from "Home" I got that annoying foreign server rejection. I had to come to this forum/thread to log in...

the hp login is not hard coded, for various reasons. if you get this error, it means your dns hasn't switched yet. 90%+ of the world has tho.

The timing out and 404'ing every few minutes is starting to get old, fast. Not to send out an ultimatium or anything but I doubt I will be paying for this when its time to renew, when I could be getting the same crashes for free.

How bout we get rid of the user name's that are in the particular forum's? You said last year that slowed the system down, hence you got rid of it... Now it's back..... If there was a choice, I'd rather the search function.....

The site has been weird all day today. I keep getting "Could not contact bigsoccer.com". I'll refresh a couple times and it'll be ok. This is all getting really out of hand. What's the point in subscribing if it's always slow or doesn't connect. I'd rather just get a "Busy" signal.

What the hell is going on with the site at the minute?

The "currently active users" has gone off. It was on for about 5 days, now its disappeared.

And I don't know if its just my monitor, but the top bar appears more bluer than usual. And generally the colours just seem a bit odd.

I'm going to leave this as a venting thread, as that's what it has become, and start a new thread that will be for updating the situation.
