Long story short, it wasn't our fault. Really. Our various servers are Load Balanced. Our hosts Load Balancer crashed, and it took them five hours to get it back up. Unfortunately, while it was crashing, people were reading and writing from our database, so the db got slightly corrupted. We had to manually repair each table in the db of BSI and BigFooty, and now here we are, tired, but solved. While our new setup is multiply redundant, it didn't cross our or our hosts mind what would happen if his LB died. He didn't have a plug and play backup solution, so they had to reprog the LB as well. Thanks for your patience.
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? Judging yes. Again not us, them. Waiting to hear their explanation today.
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? I was just about to ask this. Luckily it was midnight for me when it went down. I thought it might have been the rather cold weather plauging most of Northern Europe at the minute. Also what gives with the "currently active users" thing at the bottom of each forum? Is this so we can see who is lurking or what?

Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? I had the same problem and I did everything but I think the problem may be from your PC. I wasn't able to log out of BigFooty at all because I was banned and because you guys were putting in the new server it has made it hard to log out and log in.
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? wow it is going extrmely fast for me now and im in Australia ive never seen it go this fast
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? All's well that ends well... In case you missed it elsewhere: Anyone who thinks they're having problems 'logging in' should first make sure they're going to www.bigsoccer.com (make sure the "www" prefix is there). Make sure to change your 'favorites' link or bookmark or whatever means you use to get to the home page to reflect this as well... [/PSA]
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? yeah, I just got the "no nodes ... " message, then the white screen that the "my" page was experiencing. But it's fine now. Thought i'd report it anyway.
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? What the hell are you telling me that I wasn't the one who shut the place down? Ahh well I got to be a moderator in less than a week on your rival's website. Damn I am truly the master of disguise. Hehe speaking of which how come you guys haven't caught and redcarded/global ignored, my latest socks yet? You are slippin I am disappointed. Where the challenge at? P.S I really thought I was the reason why the site got shut down, as I was messing around on the site with a few softwares and then boom the proxy you had IP banned started working and just exactly after that the whole site went down. Haha that was cool, I felt big, like a true macho hacking nerd I thought I would never see this day, I have sunk low, real low...
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? Yea so we had another "burp" this morning. No offense, but are you guys running this site off Tripod and Geocities or something? Good lord. The "It's not our fault" only goes so far Huss...
Re: Why was BigSoccer down on Sunday? He's right, It's been hit & miss for me too... Random page misses...
