It really was annoying, and the burp contest in the second half made me yearn for the glory days of Howard the Duck. That was embarrassing. I can only imagine how it came across on TV. It has to be distracting to the players; how could it not be?

The in-game stuff has GOT to be toned down, down, down. The way I see it is that you do not have confidence in your product on the field when every five minutes or so you hear about another contest while you're trying to watch a soccer game.

Fortunately, the Charge front office has been receptive in the past to suggestions from fans. It's possible that they drop by here from time to time. So, nicely, add your two lincolns to this thread and ask that they put enough confidence in the team to let the game flow carry the day for the fans instead of let's-have-a-pizza-eating-contest during a throw-in or set piece.

Or a turning point in the game like a goal being scored.

That, I don't think is coming back... :(

You imagine how much $$ you can save with getting rid of the big screen gizmos. Purely economic reasons there.

Mostly, I felt really, really sorry for everyone in the stadium. Fortunately, I couldn't really make out what was being said (and tried very hard not to), other than that it had absolutely nothing to do with what was going on on the field.

    Wishful thinking on my part.
