.....so MLS can have that team everyone simply knows as "City".........has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

If that's what gets us the team then fine by me.

    in regards to KC

I didn't include them because we already know them as the Wizards.....not to slight KC or anything like that, though I guess I could start calling them City, since they are the only "City" in MLS right now. Oh yeah, with the talk of Borussia, can we call the Burn "Frisco Albion"? haha

I guess we'll have to have Real San Jose and CF Los Angeles.

LMAO!!! :D.... even when its true... :(

  10. I used to wonder why so many colleges were nicknamed the "Tigers"... its hard to figure out a good team name... Lets look at what all "City" has had so far...

    Wranglers
    Slickers
    Warriors
    Indians
    89ers
    RedHawks
    Blazers
    Cavs

One thing in common... they all pretty much suck. How do you cheer for a RedHawk (or for baseball, for that matter) or a Slicker?

Let's just go with "City"... plus it'll make the MAPs dream come true (if we say we're a city enough, we'll believe it... if we believe that we're a city, others eventually will as well)...

P.S. Vote against Humphucks this next mayoral election... please... :) Thanks, the youth of Oklahoma City.

gee... all this time I thought the team was called to Oklahoma "City Slickers"...

you know, "everything's up to date in KC"... but I hear "they've gone about as fer as they can go"...

    :)

    Okies. Revel in your redneckedness.

    Like the Vancouver Canucks.

  14. Name one good thing Humphucks has done right...

MAPs for Kids? Ha. Too bad there won't be good, teachers/administrators in those new buildings.

USBL in OKC? Nope. He screwed up there.

MLS in OKC (proper)? Nope. Gotta drive 15 miles to UCO's campus from where the campus should be.

Crime is up, wealth is down. Humphucks has done literally nothing right.

So again, vote against Humphucks this next election. Thank you, youth of Oklahoma City.

  15. Too bad he was one of the largest cheerleaders for the trashing of the MAPs name... Of course, the entire school system set up for the Oklahoma City metroplex is pathetic in its own right. God forbid we reform in a positive direction when we can just pour funds into rebuilding schools, make 'em pretty enough so people forget that they don't do their job - educate the youth of tomorrow... Trust me, I was just there, my friends back in high school are getting screwed, big time.

If marketed correctly and not abused by the press like the Cavs were, a minor-pro basketball team would fly in Oklahoma City. We support a baseball team, and if I remember correctly, OU and OSU both have strong baseball clubs.

He could at least play the role of cheerleader (ie LaForture/Tulsa) instead of shooting down the idea in the first place. As for the "current plans", to my knowledge (yes, I did bother to research this, in fact I recently finished a paper discussing the urban renewal campaigns taken on by Oklahoma City) there is quite a bit of land left over, especially near where the Canal fades away on the south end, by the river...

Coach Blake was responsible for OU not getting first downs? Coach Blake was responsible for OU's attendance going down? No....

No... I would have voted for Adolf Junior if he'd run. (Note the sarcasm)

Done. You might consider referencing what a run-on sentence is or how to use commas when listing three or more objects.

This member of the "Youth of Oklahoma City" has already read his civics book and realizes that the mayor can play a role in getting local actions done -whether if he has the direct power or not. Just as the president is not able to pass laws (in the traditional sense), he can pressure the legislature into taking action - along with any agency. Are there problems in Oklahoma City? Definately. Can they be solved? Definately. How can we start to solve these problems? Get rid of leaders who waste time (Humphucks)...

So again, Mr. Honorary Latino, please vote against Humphucks in the next election; thank you, the future of Oklahoma City.
