The Cosmos documentary has finally made it to town, and is playing at the Ritz 5 in Old City.

I went to see it this afternoon; you get to see Peter Frampton in a Fury shirt, and also hear ex-Atom and Fury (and Cosmos) star Bobby Smith talk about his times with the team. Some brief Fury footage, too. The most significant mention of Philly is how 20,000 Atoms fans went to the Vet in 1976 to see an injured Pele in street clothes.

An enjoyable movie, even if it does play loose with history at times. I recommend it.

    Don't quite follow this.

The Atoms played Chicago on 7/2/76 at Franklin Field, with an announced crowd of 1776--surely someone's idea of a joke.

As far as quality of play improvements, I agree--but don't know why you made the comment here.

No, they didn't...I believe that match was 5/31/76, at JFK. England 3, Team America 1.
