I keep hearing from people who they think THE "Starting XI" should be. This sentiment has been especially strong since the US's victory over Spain last summer. Now so many fans think that the US can only win with that specific strategy, style, composition, etc. Well, that's stupid. The US plays 3 very different teams in South Africa and Bob is likely to use 3 very different starting lineups. Not only that, but he's also likely to use different subs each game also.

    LB: Bocanegra, Spector, Bornstein, Beasley
CB: If Gooch is hurt, Bocanegra slides in or Goodson steps up. If 3 CBs are hurt, then Spector probably moves to CB. Edu could end up there too.
Wingers: Donovan, Dempsey, Holden, and Beasley will all play out wide at some point in South Africa. Hell, Feilhaber can too.
CM: Edu or Clark will start alongside Mikey against England. After that, there is no telling. You would think that Torres or Feilhaber would start against Slovenia, but paired with who? Most likely its Bradley, but its not set in stone. I'm thinking the one who doesn't start against England between Clark and Edu will start the 3rd match.
    F: who the hell knows.
