Not sure what to make of it. Does the coach think its a walk over and is saving some or has someone finally noticed how slow Rapinoe and Heath have become??? Kind of hope its option 2. Also nice to see all 11 respect the National Anthem. Must be 100 people in the stands
If he thought it was a walkover, he wouldn't be starting eight of the same 11 that started the World Cup final. And the three others aren't scrubs.
Actually Hatti looks a LOT better early on against the US than Panama did against Costa Rica. I think the commentators are really correct this time and it is going to come down to Costa Rica or Hatti for second place in the group and goal difference could be a huge concern. It looks like the US is so hungry for a match they are hurrying a bit and trying too hard. They need to relax and let the match come to them.
For being a goal up, I've not been really impressed with the US's play in this first 10 minutes. I see some rust (or nerves?) in the passing although I also think Haiti looks better than Panama.
I REALLY detest the aimless passing across the back that the US is doing almost every time the get the ball in the defense. All it does is give Hatti time to get organized.
That was poorly defended and Naeher should have had it. I hate everything about that even if offside.
Off a corner kick? That's not possible (if directly from the corner kick and I didn't see any other touch).
You cannot be offside on a corner at all. That was a great goal by Hatti. Again there is NO offside on a corner. CONCACAF refs screw up again. It is a recurring theme.
I feel bad for Haiti, they got robbed, unless there was a foul somewhere else on the field which the cameras didn't catch.
I'd think the size of the crowd has little to do with it. Its a competitive match, and some players are trying to impress a new coach. Williams at least looks to me to be playing with some nerves (but then again I've never been too impressed with her touch).
I hope we were not doing zonal marking on that corner. Nobody was marking the player that scored. Very poorly defended.
