Note to the Fire staff: It's a good idea to get an agreement to play a game in writing before you go around publicising it, selling tickets to it, having articles appear in the paper about it, and such. Verbal agreements tend not to be worth the paper they're printed on.
Note to Hala Madrid, I hear there is a opening in the Fire front office. They could your vast experience.
that blows... i would imagine that it had been in writing and there was a way to get out of the deal beforehand sucks to be us, i suppose
This blows. Add Olympiakos to my perminant list of enemy clubs. Doesn't matter whether there's a good reason or not. Damn them for getting my hopes up.
Well, then tell me what is wrong about taking the administrators to task for not getting a written agreement from the club they were to play before announcing it.
Truth be told it is disturbing that since 2001 all of the Friendlies and International double headers that are announced end up being cancelled. But I would want to hear the whole story from both parties first and would check if the friendlies that have been played in the past were handled the same way. Since we might never have access to that information, we will never know. If you feel it is OK to question the front office in this fourm you are free too. Likewise I am free to post my criticism of your post.
I am left with quite a sad feeling. I purposely shortened my Baja California enduro bike experience to make it back to Chicago for this game. It was supposed to be like 3.5 weeks and now it is only 2.5 weeks. And I will be stuck in hot Chicago in the middle of June with nothing to do. This gotta suck!
You're so hilarious that I'm going to give you two "L"s. That's you: hillarious. Speaking of other things that aren't funny, why has this game been cancelled? Did Olympiakos give an official reason or just their apology for dropping out? Not that I didn't see this coming... typical Greeks; first they kill Socrates for being a rabble rouser, and now they're quitting soccer matches. It's a sad, but logical progression. I mean, I consider myself to be "cultured," and I love gyros as much as the next guy, but who trusts Greece? Looking at the situation analytically, I would take Turkey for the EU over Greece any day. In conclusion, what was the reason that the big O (olympiakos) gave for cancelling the game? Oh and another thing: SankaCofie, in case you couldn't tell by the tone of my voice, I was being satirical earlier. Here's some more sarcasm: sex with monkeys? that's ingenious! it's usually annoying when someone makes an unsolicited, random point, but your comment was so refreshing and humorous that necessity all but compelled you to share your thoughts. In the midst of the trite and simple-minded banter of these internet message boards your witty quips have helped you to stand out as a true voice of the people. Congratulations on your life sir, for you truly have it all. ........... Bottom Dollar gang: Greece... what's their deal?
FairWeatherFan I am speachless... -- As for Olympiakos... Noone heard about this fixture in Greece. I 've heard from you guys and the whole situation sounds like a negotiation and a misunderstanding between the two teams... Truth is Olympiakos is notorious for not having good staff in managerial posts except maybe scouting. I am very sorry for all the people who were eager to go and see the match and especially the Americans of Greec descent who surelly have been looking forward to it impatiently despite even supporting other teams... Pitty I too would like to know why Fire issued and SOLD! the tickets and why Olympiakos backed up when they obviously have nothing better to do in June! Oh! and if you want to see good football invite Panathinaikos or AEK up there... forget the reds...
You know what this is about the third game we have had cancelled the last two years. Minor League Soccer!!!! Keep it up guys!!! Yeah we have the greatest this and that!!! BLAH!!! Whatever. Very amateur!!! Rinky dink management!! Rinky dink results
Don't get on him. I agree with Liam this is not the first time the FIre has cancelled an international friendly. Looks very bush league.
Something tells me you are a charter member of the Peter Wilt Fan Club!! What more information do you need?? You have a bunch of guys getting paid Cow Dung to set up international friendlies for this club. No worries though we have the greatest management in the world because they come to our tailgates and they talk to the 34 year old virgins on this message board. SIGH!!
