Nothing too exciting but Ben Olsen was on Elliot In The Morning, today. He spoke about how thrilled the team was to finally get a win but also that they realize that it is only one win. Also discussed was Marco's new mini-mullet. Not a hard hitting soccer interview but good to see some of the local media support DC soccer. Elliot has also been a good supporter of the Freedom.
Wait, isn't there some kind of radio curse on DC players? Agoos was on a lot, then got traded. Then Pope was on a lot, same result.
Talley filled in after Goose left.....and got himself traded. I guess this is it for Ben.....or maybe that's why he's growing the beard, maybe he thinks he can beat the curse!
Somebody should invite Elliott to one of our tailgates and a game. I would but my busiest part of my day is between 7 and 11:00.
Ever listen at night? The night guy at DC101, Roche, is a HUGE soccer fan. I think he likes European soccer really but it seems like he's starting to get into DCU. Anyway, he's had Mike Petke on a few times in the last month. They seem like they really get along with each other and Roche kinda knows what he's talking about so he asks better soccer questions than Elliot.

Roche mentioned when he first got to DC that he was a big fan. Has an Ajax tatoo, and is a big Dutch fan, too.

A few months ago, I was at work and--I THINK it was Elliot in the morning, I'm 99.9% sure--they had Olsen on. For all I know, this was already posted and is old news, but I forgot about it by the time I got home. It was one of those "on-location at a bar" things. Ben was cool, the host (again, I believe it was Elliot) seemed to be into it and knew a little about DCU. It was cool just to hear United being treated like a regular, recognized part of the area scene.
I think Olsen and Hudson made an appearance at Kegs and Eggs and that's what you're talking about bigredfutbol.
Petke on with Roche again Mike Petke called in to Roche's show again last night on DC101. Not really an interview as it sounded like Mike was out at a bar or something but was interesting was that he said the Rapids were by FAR the worst team he's faced in his six years in the league. It was pretty funny stuff. And yes, Roche is an Ajax fan. That's what caught my attention as (obivously) I am an Ajax fan. I remember him saying he was going to Amsterdam around March to watch them play. So I guess he's a REALLY big fan. thanks for the welcome to the board! AD
