Unless he's had a decline of epic proportions, sign him yesterday.

Olaf Mellberg is a top quality player. I'd love to see him here. He would definitely help stabilize the back line. Don't know how likely this is but I'd like to see it happen.

Now, this player is a possibility, we frankly need a CB to par with Ream and a line up of:

    Albright...Mellberg...Ream...Miller

    Robinson
    Lindpere......................Nielsen

    Henry
    Angel......Salou

    Will looking good

    [LINEUP-4-4-2]jpa,henry,nielson,lindpere,zeroberto,richards,miller,mellburg,ream,albright[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

    thats more like it.

i dont see Mellburg comming for less than DP money and i dont see RB paying him DP money. Would be awsome if they could pull it off though

If you want to get the best of the team, a 4-3-3 will be much better, with two speedy on the flanks like Lindpere and Nielsen and three forwards one Salou or Henry little on the back...Richards is fast, but he has not control and can't make a pass in the end of his run, that all the effort is for nothing, we need some body instead of Richards there....

Loved Olof when he was at Villa. Would be awesome to see him with the Red Bulls - an old friend of JPAs as well!

I can't see this kind of quality at below DP prices. He is currently payed 1.5 million euros plus bonuses per year at Olympiakos. It would be great to get him but it's either as a DP, which i don't see happening, or they pay down an @ssload of his contract with allocation money or some other shenanigans.

    Jeremy Hall.

Less speed but light years better crossing.

wiki is saying he signed a 3 year deal in 2009 and he's producing well in greece. Maybe Hans is planting the seeds to get him over here when he's
    34 .

Pirelli "Power is nothing without control "

Hall just "gets it" as far as what is expected from a flank player. he's more willing to play a give and go, recognize overlapping players, and can cross with both feet which really surprised me.
Richards just infuriates his teamates with his lack of ability.

Why would anyone who knows anything about Hall's background be surprised by this? It's well documented that Hall was a right-footed left-winger in college.

And before anyone responds that this fact doesn't guarantee he could cross with his left, it doesn't. The point is that it shouldn't be a surprise.

As for Olof, Backe has already said that they're not likely to use a DP slot on a center back.

I dated a chick in college who, after a few drinks and/or bowl hits, enjoyed "going greek"...

...am I still in the same topic of conversation??

    Boy, I miss her sometimes...
