Last I heard Bierhoff went back to Italy. Is that true? If so, which club?

    Is he now retiring?

I hope not, because he could still be useful to a lot of Bundesliga clubs. I think he probably still has some game left, as a decent scorer. He can still make an excellent target man in the middle. After all, he is 34 or 35 and being a classic target center forward, he could still have 2 or 3 more good years left. I know Bierhoff's form has not been so good the last couple of years, but in the right situation I think he has the ability to contribute.

Bierhoff always announced to retire and probably will do so. Lately he got two new offers, one from France (Bordeaux I think) and one from England (don't remember the club, but EPL) which made him think about his position anew. But as I said, retiring is more probable than accepting.

Chievo Verona. Bierhoff scored 3 times against Juventus last night.

Thats good news! In my opinion lots of germans were unthankful to Bierhoff. He made the Golden Goal 96! Yes - his technical abilities were always limited because of his tallness. But this man scored goals. Seria A Top Striker without penalties and with a mediocre team (Udinese). Good luck, Olli!

as with most popular aging talent, he too has been rumored to be interested in MLS.

In my soccer-viewing lifetime, I had never seen a player who can header the ball so well.
