oliver bierhoff was a classic german striker thanks for the memories and his finest moment was scoring in the euro96 final against the czech republic euro96 will always be my favorite cuz of croatias debut also bierhoff was a milanista so thanx bierhoff
Last I heard Bierhoff went back to Italy. Is that true? If so, which club? Is he now retiring? I hope not, because he could still be useful to a lot of Bundesliga clubs. I think he probably still has some game left, as a decent scorer. He can still make an excellent target man in the middle. After all, he is 34 or 35 and being a classic target center forward, he could still have 2 or 3 more good years left. I know Bierhoff's form has not been so good the last couple of years, but in the right situation I think he has the ability to contribute.
Bierhoff always announced to retire and probably will do so. Lately he got two new offers, one from France (Bordeaux I think) and one from England (don't remember the club, but EPL) which made him think about his position anew. But as I said, retiring is more probable than accepting.
Thats good news! In my opinion lots of germans were unthankful to Bierhoff. He made the Golden Goal 96! Yes - his technical abilities were always limited because of his tallness. But this man scored goals. Seria A Top Striker without penalties and with a mediocre team (Udinese). Good luck, Olli!
