    Suspension loomed for Olimpia

ASUNCION -- South American champions Olimpia has promised to withdraw a legal complaint filed against FIFA in Zurich after world soccer's governing body threatened the club with suspension.

The possible ban would cost the Paraguayan club, who was briefly suspended last year in a similar case, a prestigious meeting against European champions Real Madrid in the Intercontinental Club Cup final in Japan in December.

Libertadores champs to pursue matters with FIFA

ASUNCION -- South American champions Olimpia has dropped the two lawsuits that would have excluded the club from next month's World Club Cup clash with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

La Nacion newspaper, owned by Olimpia president Osvaldo Dominguez, reported that Olimpia withdrew its legal action against Paraguayan Football Association (AFP) president Oscar Harrison and vice-president Antonio Colman Rodriguez "as from today" (Wednesday).
