Good find Ted - OGS will go down as a great for the fans, similar to Irwin in many ways with his dedication to the club

Excellent, definitely class all-around, both on and off the pitch.

This is only part of the reason why he is my all time favorite.

He annoys the hell out of me, mostly because he's good.

Big ups to OGS for doing something most athletes only talk about.

My two favorite all time EPL players were both class acts on and off, OGS, and Zola. Cheers to them both!

Well, I'm not so much annoyed by OGS (especially being part Norwegian myself), but, he is one of those few players who can change a game's complexion when he comes in. Hard to admit that I've admired him over the years, but now I can attribute my admiration to this.

Thanks for posting the link, Father Ted. My daughter liked reading it too:)

Damn norwegian super-sub, I hate him for being that. But he sounds like a very nice and caring person. I hate it when players I really dislike turns out to be someone I would like to know in real life, it shatters so many illusions. It would be so much easier if he just were a real git.

    Nice one Ole-Gunnar.

And stay clear of brunost, it's really an aquired taste that you have to be norwegian to like.

I'm part Norwegian myself, born in Bergen!

OGS is one of the greatest sporting personalities I've ever known. Irwin, Ole and Butt (until this summer) were/are perfect examples of the few footballers left who don't put money and fame first.

You know, after reading all these posts, I almost want to start a 12-step program. "Hello, my name is Val, and I've always liked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer."

I don't have many friends who like soccer, and those who do all prefer the US men's and women's teams/leagues. I thought I was all alone in liking OGS, and here I find (sob) that OGS is even Mt Johno's favorite player of all time. (sob, sob) You guys are great... I'm not alone (sniff, sniff).

    LOL

    Go Norway! ;)

    Ole is the man...!!
By the way, have heard some English-speaking people try to pronounce 'Solskjær'. Haven't the Man U fans learned to do it right yet? :D :)

    I've heard plenty:

    "Souls-kyire"
    "Soul-shire"
    "Ole" :D

There's one brand I'm crazy about in particular. Gudbrandsdalsost I think it's called. Any relative coming from Norway brings tons of it each time they come. That, with leverpostei, mils kaviar og (oops, I mean and!!) baconost, make bread-spread heaven.

I recall seeing an ad with Ole Gunnar himself advertising a brand of Bronost last time I was there.

There's a panel of 'experts' who talk on KBC TV here before each live CL match. One actually called him "solskajayer", ie pronouncing each letter as in english! Absolutely unbelievable.

I've got nothing against norwegians (except Carew). Swedes on the other hand... ;)

Have you read the latest news about Carew?
The text-messages between him and Henning Berg right after Carew and Riise had a "mix-up" at practice with the national team?
