My heart stopped for a second there... from the forum index page all I could see was "Old Trafford Suicide Bomb..."

Good thing it's only the Mirror.

Of all the teams to plan it for as well:

The fans who have endured Munich and Hillsborough.

They used to have lights above the dugouts that would be switched on if the IRA made a bomb threat at Old Trafford. Nobody would leave, and everyone in the Stretford End would start singing "We're gonna get our f---ing heads blown off!".

Funny at the time....not so much now though.

There probably is something to this but it will take some time for any details to be made known.

Just saw an item on Reuters saying The Sun was running an article tomorrow along roughly the same lines of what the above-mentioned Mirror reported. Don't know if that's any more reliable.

I watched the 7 pm (EDT here in the US) BBC World News and they did report the detention of several suspected Islamist bomb plotters in the Manchester area. But no mention of any specific target.

Probably just a loyal fan who'd just seen SAF's latest team selection ;)

    Irony, motterman.

On a serious note, only The Sun has the story - even the Mirror story was merely taken from the there presumably just in case there was any truth in it and the Mirror wanted to avoid a scoop for their competitor for greatest idiocy. Even now, at least 12 hours since the story in the Sun, none of the 'serious" 'papers or the BBC have taken it up.

Here's the OT reaction to it:

Well, I thought it worthwhile to post since the story was sourced from Reuters.

Problem is with Britain we let these 3rd world dickheads into our country and they start all this crap. Hook-hand probably masterminded it with his elite skinny guards. Oh well have a house and free rent for a month and a nice cup of tea :)
