Reading my new SI and the Old Spice Athlete of the Month is Freddy Adu.

  4. Wow...who is Freddy Adu?

just kidding, nice to see this... and strange at the same time. Does Freddy even wear deodorant yet? I am convinced that his real name is Gary Coleman.

Yeah this most recent issue of SI covered a lot of soccer.

    Examples:

Allowed Old Spice to advertise using a soccer player! Much in the same way ESPN allows MLS to pay to use it's stations!

    UpperDeck will distribute ManUtd cards.
SI Writer: "Should be accompanied by tear gas to control hooligans."

Signs of the Apocalypse (or whatever):
"York County in England will pipe in canned crowd sounds to add atmosphere to the game."

SI's really stepping up now! I bet next month Frank Deford will write an article that soccer is dead...all over the world and basketball has taken over!!!

I can't remember the exact wording, but at the bottom of the Adu "article" there was a mention of Taylor Twellman as a past Old Spice winner.

Is York County trying to get an MLS expansion team?
