Keith Olberman has an article about the expected progress of the baseball negotiations on Salon.com today.

He thinks the small relative difference in the two positions coupled with the pressure from the banks and bad publicity if they are not playing on Sept. 11th will lead to a last-minute agreement on Thursday night or a short week-long strike.

He made an interesting point about Thursday night. If there hasn't been a break in the talks or an announcement of a strike by 7pm or 8pm, then they are probably really close to a deal and it'll be resolved later that night.
