After Jay Jay's latest poor performance and poor reaction to being subbed against Brum City should the club just let him move on? The new contract we've offered is more than he's on now yet he still stalls. He's had about 5 good games this season and currently has no league goals and no league assists. I believe we could adaquately replace him with the wages we're paying. He's generally ineffective, although he is a crowd pleaser and brings the spotlight to Bolton.
I'm not trolling. Just interested in constantly chatting footie, especially English football. I think you should keep him just for the fact that he does draw attention from the fans, league, and defenders. If you had a solid striker maybe Jay Jay wouldn't look so bad?
Davies needs a pacy little bugger to play alongside him but I don't see how that'd help Jay Jay. Ironically after all this Okocha has a blinder again Chelsea, I winder if he will next week?
He's not been effective for most of the season, it took until we played Spurs away in October for him to have a good game. That is the reason why he must be allowed to go.
I Think Curbishley would be a bit too shrewd to spend silly money on Jay Jay. The other two would be the kind of teams that would sign him.
True, but do you not think we could get an adaquate replacement for him and Frandsen/Djorkaeff on the money we would save with his wages?
The way that Sam works by taking chances on out of favour players paid dividends when it came to Okocha/Djorkaeff/Campo/Laville etc but he's also got it wrong on a few occassions namely Jardel I don't see any reason not to try & keep a world class player (well sometimes he plays World Class!) as he'll probably look for his replacement in the bargin basement again although if Nedved had a major bust up with Juve then that'd be different. I think a lot of the flames of speculation are fanned by the media I think most Bolton players realise that the club can only offer them new contracts when we know our situation at the end of the season.
He can go to Everton, he ain't too good for you. Afterall your lot, including wunderkid, only like playing once every 5 games.... very suitable.
okocha should leave bolton no matter what he should realize if he stays he would only be nagged at on streesful days. he's a player of class and is capable of getting any club with his mesmerizing skills.if bolton don't see that then am sorry for them(a horse doesnt know the value of it's tail until it's cut off). theres only one JAY JAY.from a nigerian perspective.
Jay Jay, is not very consistent... no wait.. he is very consistent... consistently poor... IMO he has always been overrated and while he can sometimes be an exciting player his tricks and moves do not often bear fruit... Perhaps as one mentioned he needs better players around him, but I doubt it... great players find a way to excel no matter what... Jay Jay should at least have 5 or 6 assists by now... all it takes is a through ball and a finish.... but he is often more interested in how many defenders he can dribble... interesting side note: on my college team, one of my mates who is not really known for dribbling dribbled our best defender (took him by suprise) when he did Jay Jay's signature move... you know, the drag foot over ball and then run over with body weight shifting... it took us all by suprise and was a pleasant way to enjoy practice... I guess Jay Jay should not leave Bolton because he is good for the game and for your fans... hopefully his performances can pick up.
thats the thing how many can you dribble. and thats why brazil are world champions if everyone tries to score soccer would become very boring.just look at the game it has declined from a game of dribble tricks and stategy to a game of long ball and shots nothing interesting about the game anymore jj once said ''fans came to have a good time and watch amazing tricks so why not give them'' that was when naija probed him for dribbling to much.it could also be that the african style is more about tricks and dribbling quality than european.apart form jj.ronaldinho.zidane,romario i dont see any more players who are about entertainment than goal scoring alll the time.i tell you i prefer to see a nil nil match with quality dribble skills and narrow missed opportunity that a 20-30 goal scoring match. THERE'S ONLY ONE JAY JAY
Football's about results, not fancy tricks. If you want that then go to the circus. After the 'Iron Wall' came down there were miriads of eastern Europeans coming to western Europe with some of the most amazing ball skills ever seen. Sadly the vast, vast majority of these players never made it because they, like you, had failed to realise that football is not about who can do the most kick-ups, it's about scoring goals. 'Players' who could do amazing things with the ball at their feet were unable to string half decent 5 yard passes together, let alone stand up to the rigours of 90 minutes of football. Okocha's problem is his consistency and he fact that his average play is just that... very average. For all his ability he's failed to deliver what he's capable of on a regular basis, that goes for every club he's ever played for.
