Just saw a guy in church with an Energy FC scarf on. Guess one of us is going to have to find a new place to go to church
Well, truth be told, you don't seem like the church going type. No real reason, just the "vibe" I get. Probably (obviously) way off base, but there ya go.
Is it the profanity? Or the visceral hate for anything not "Chicago Fire"? I mean, who needs church more, sinners or saints? Depending on were you live and how far you want to drive, allow me to extend an invitation to our Sunday service. All a cappella singing though - we don't use none of the Devil's musical instruments.
no I just think we should stay on topic, or we'll end up like that cluster f**** on the nasl thread. Where it's 90% opinion and insulting those that don't support the same team they do, and 10% fact. I didn't join bs to be bullied into supporting a team that I don't want to. I purposely stay away from the nasl thread so as not to interject my opinion or stir up controversy (anymore than what has been already) . I would hope that other posters would respect that. Quite frankly we "Energy Fans " do have ammunition to use in this so called "war" but I am choosing to take the high ground here and let the teams fight this on the pitch and in the boardrooms like iy should be not in the stands and on the interwebs hopefully the end result will be the 2 most dominate teams in American lower tier soccer 1. Oklahoma City 2. Tulsa with both on their way to the mls. I'll continue to attempt to stay on the high road all I ask is that others with differing opinions attempt to do the same. Fair Enough ?
this has been out for a few days but I don't think anybody has posted it http://www.energyfc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.article&articleID=0902670F-57B0-E311-A1F9-000C296FBAA9
Ouch, sucks for the NASL team. But that's one less "******** the Energy" point, I guess. Shaping up to be quite the battle here in OKC.

Taft and a Tulsa rival as NASL just gets out of the gate. To use soccer as analogy, It's a 2-0 lead early.
With a head start, poaching of Taft, and fielding a PDL team to compete with the NPSL team of SOS, they certainly have quite the uphill battle. I don't know what kind of person Lund is, but maybe this is a fight they should just bow out of. Good or bad, Funk has out maneuvered them at every step and I can't see a way for them to claw to the top at this point. I could be wrong, but who knows.
I admit I don't know much about McLaughlin. What does he do? How did he make his money? What's he worth? I'm curious what his stack of money next to Funk's stack of money means for the new combined ownership group. Together do they now have a realistic shot at making this work and lasting into the future? Do they have enough money to acquire riverfront land and build a new stadium down the road?
