i say if a player like a Novak is available, we go for him,,,i'd give up an allocation , a first rounder, or salary cap room for an old but experienced midfield gerneral screw it, with the rise in publicity americans/mls have gotten from the WC i see no way an MLS team can keep a "dynasty" together... and if u do build a mini dynatsty there is the salary cap issue (with the money the players will demand)that will force metro to make trades for salary room instead of talent its getting pretty pathetic knowing that in a 10 team league we have yet to make the finals
Does the fact that we're now tight against the salary cap after this deal not register with any of you????
My thoughts exactly as I was driving home today. We're going from lots of cap space to lots of injury potential. Makes me a little nervous.
Sometimes I think the Metro take the Emma Lazarus poem from the Statue of Liberty too literally -- "Give me your tired . . ." Moreno hasn't had his game for a while. Pope hasn't been injury free for any extended period of time for a while. Pope is a good defender when healthy although he hasn't the speed anymore that I thought made him special. If healthy he could replace Petke but all in I am not sure that this deal represents any kind of serious upgrade.
