I had just tuned into the Metro game after having watched the Nats ..I heard something along the lines of a vote coming early July? The most important question i think would be: Is there something we could do (write, email, call, etc.) to show support/interest and waht not towards the stadium project?

    Here's what I got:

According to the report, the Harrison Town Council should vote by July 1st at the latest and it's expected to be approved. They had the mayor of Harrison & the chairman of the Harrison Waterfront Redevelopment Agency both indicating strong support. They said the timeline is to complete all agreements by end-of-summer, finalize the design this fall, begin construction in late winter or early spring 2004, and open for the 2006 season.

I hadn't seen those renderings anywhere. They look great! Rooves on both sidelines! I want a better look. Anybody that knows where I can find them, please let me know!

There is no question that the vote will be passed, so there is no reason to spend time writing to show support. The vote is merely a formality.

Plural of roof. There is a roof over each sideline, which I definitely think is a good thing.

The plural of roof is roofs.

Well after a quick search, my dictionary says both are acceptable, but Miss Manners says while both are acceptable, "rooves" is a bit arcane.

Anyway, I don't really care - I'm just glad the stadium rendering has them!

I thought they wanted the stadium open by April 2005.

They showed an artist rendition of the stadium followed by a computer generated mock-up. On the mock-up, you could see two rooves with "Metrostars" on the tops.

They presumably also expected constuction to have begin already. Broadcast said target opening date is April 2006.

If they for they stadium, it should be ready sometime in 2005 and not 2006. I hope they do. Did they change the initial Metro's stadium design?. I like the Home Depot better.

I think this new stadium decision is pretty 'beat'. I mean, yeah, it sucks to have to 'ground-share' at times with the Gianst and Jets, but they should've found a place more relevant to New York as well. I mean, for us, to get to Giants Stadium, it only takes us 45-50 min on a mornal traffic-day. No traffic, high speed half an hour. Now, it will take us, what? A good two hours? I live in Wharton, Morris County, in case you're wondering.

20 minutes, four stops and $1.50 on the PATH train. MetroChile is an idiot.

The Stadium will be right off the 280. That's a pretty straight shot from Wharton, ain't it?

Is there a reason as to why you just insulted me? I thought the whole point of these boards was to share opinions, guess I was wrong./....

What does "more relevant" to New York mean? Easier to get to? You can take the train to Harrison (via Newark), certainly can't take it to the Meadowlands.

25,000 is too small. Go for at least 30,000
