I never like rooting for a team that I don't support. But now that we're out of the playoffs I am hoping for DCU to win. And the only reason is so that Peter Nowak will have another MLS Cup ring on his finger when he comes back to coach the Fire in the future.
I don't really care but if pressed...Def DC. And not really 'root for'...more 'the team I want to see lose the least'
Well, as much as I despise Columbus now, I rooted for them before Chicago got their team. If any team could use a champion, it is Columbus. Have they won anything in their history?
I hope they all lose, but since that's probably not possible, I'd have to say DC United. It'd be cool for Nowak to win a championship in his first year.
Cool for Nowak agreed, but think of the spin ESPN will put on Freddy and how he turned the team around!
I'm going for Columbus just because Jeff Cunningham walked me to my surgery appointment eariler this year.
For me -- I'd like to see the Crew get it. Best record, it's about time, etc. For the league- The DC United Traveling Adu Show. Casual sports fans can get into it a little. Maybe generate a little bit of interest.
I'm with you - I think another championship would push DCU fans over the bring from annoying to insufferable. I'm going to root... hmmm... Colorado. I think that team is most in need of a good run to boost local interest and local fan commitment. If I can't root for the Fire, or against Dallas, I'm going to root for maximum general benefit to MLS.
I feel kinda bad, but I just have no interest in the rest of the season. The general good heath of the league is very important to me, yet I am not an MLS fan, I'm a Fire Fan. So, I guess I'm not actually rooting for anyone, but I hope whatever happens in the playoffs is a marketing coup for the league. Beyond that, I can muster a little hate for any other team in the league, some more than others. If pushed, I'd have to say I'd wish Nowak and Dema well. Josh and Deigo? Not so much...
