I voted absentee (gotta help dad secure his prosecutor seat), so my vote will count in Hardin County.
My dad actually had someone come up to him the other week and say, "How does it feel to be voting in a state that will determine the WORLD's future for the next 4 years?" I don't know if the man was serious, or not. Please, only native Ohioans or those who voted for the state of Ohio. I'd like to see (MLS team being Crew or not) how we on bigsoccer voted for this election.
Also, did you vote for or against the ammendment on marriage? I'd like to have a discussion on this, as well.
I voted for Kerry as well, also i voted yes for the zoo. I also voted against the one that wanted to say Gay marriage will be against the Ohio constitution. and John F Bender for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas. I hope he is half as cool as his namesake from Futurama. Other mention goes for Ron O'Brien. Even though he plays for Dallas i think he'd make a good Prosecuting Attorney.
I hate the Ox, so I voted party line (admittedly, thought I hate to do so) on that one, and against the ammendment too. Anyone here see the Boss play last night for Kerry's showing in Cleveland? P.S.: Those who voted, please state that you did. I think it's shady that votes are being counted here with noone stating as to why they did (c'mon people, we're not from Chicago, heh). Wish I could see somehow who voted on this thread and weed out the numbnuts from other, less-dignified states...like Michigan
I voted against it. Regardless of how someone feels about homosexuals, this is a poorly written amendment. Taft and Voinovich both oppose it; we've already got DOMA. Why is this on the ballot?
I was quite shocked to see it on the ballot myself. I was wondering if the next page would have something about black people not being able to sit at the front of public busses.
Is there any sense around Columbus that the Crew's elimination from the playoffs has enraged the voters and will they take their anger out on the current administration? i.e. - did the Revs help their homeboy Kerry? I know this scenario is ridiculous, but it would be interesting if soccer and MLS could shape politics in in the US in some small, or not-so-small, way.
I must be living in a fantasyland, where I thought if I made it to the polls by 7 I'd still make it to work by 8. Well, after waiting in line for an hour and 50 minutes, I finally got to vote, and ended up at work just before 9:30. Doh! Voted for Kerry, Fingerhut, the Zoo, something about Columbus schools Voted against the gay marriage ban Didn't vote for most of those judges because I didn't know who many of them were
An hour and 50 minutes!!! Just by contrast I walked up to the polling place in Liverpool NY (Suburb of Syracuse) at 8 am and was the only one there. We also haven't had any commercials on TV or radio about the election. In fact, I can't even remember seeing that many signs on the roads. That's just the perks we get here for being a "decided" state.
Voted for Kerry and Against the Gay Marriage Ban as it's very poorly written. Nothing else to really vote for in Deleware County. No Zoo Levy or School Issues up here. Waited about an hour and a half to vote.
Really not interested on naming all my votes (personal tradition), but I did get called out on trying to take one of those handouts from the library? that had a short review of the candidates, their positions, and the leveys. Told I could have it, just not in sight, so I had to stuff it in my scrubs. That that was interesting when it wasn't for or against a single party or issue. Just glad that I think Issue 12 will pass (sorry my smoking friends).
Did he tell him it's nothing new to Ohio, we've been Massive for years. Voted for Michael Badnarik I Believe in Fairies---I voted No on issue 1. Other then that, I don't live in Columbus proper so I didn't get to say no to the more interesting ********. I probably would have said yes to the Zoo. I guess that makes me a bad Libertarian, but ******** it, I like the Zoo.
Oh, yeah. I did vote for the smoking ban, too. Although, I really could give a crap, as a non-smoker I've come to expect certain places to be smokey (bars and bowling alleys) and don't really care. Maybe it sucks for the employees, but how hard is it to find another food service job in Columbus?
2 hours and 10 mins. myself. Yes to the zoo and Westerville Schools. Voted for Kerry. Voted against the constitutional ban on gay marriage and employer benefits for domestic partners and all that jazz (How can this be good for Ohio and it's struggling economy? Not to mention being hate based legislation).
I asked the same thing in Michigan, yet I still think it's going to pass. I swear I'm not far from moving out of this state and leaving the Ians of the world behind.
I voted for Kerry, against the gay marriage ban, and yes to the zoo. I got to my polling place before the doors actually opened at 6:30 and was done at 7. Apparently, my dad had a much longer wait when he went to vote at 7:30 or so.
Everybody knows how I voted. I'll save the country singlehandedly if I have to. I was in and out in under ten minutes, and one of the old ladies gave me a cookie.
Neither Bush nor Kerry. Mostly Republican but Democratic where they deserved to keep their position or where change was desperately needed. For and against some levys. For the Zoo. Against the adoption of Issue 1 Canned the ban Two hours to wait in line to cast my vote. Personally, I was disturbed by the amount of misinformation used in political ads and the staggering amount of obsolete facts, half-truths and media bias for this campaign. Even when I went to vote, the location piped in their daily broadcast on the loud speaker; complete with an altered version of the pledge of allegiance and a prayer for us to "do the right thing".
I'm suprised that people are so willing to discuss who they voted for. Either way, I have a good feeling that the Zoo Levy will pass. Good job, mission accomplished.
It took an hour and a half in Bexley this morning. The poll workers said they'd never seen so many people and it took them until 9:30 to get everything sorted out to where it was efficient. I voted against Issue 1 - gay marriage issue aside, the second sentence of the amendment will spell economic disaster for the state.
Ninety minutes for me. Couple a large voter turnout with the largest ballot I've ever seen and you get a bored Flyer Fan.
