I read they have a five year wait for season tickets and the games are sold out. They added seats for the playoffs and sold all of those. Sounds like they are doing pretty good.
Too bad they never got around to building a bigger stadium. Dragon Stadium has nice amenities but is a bit on the small side. Here in Plano our stadium seats 14,000 and over in Mesquite they have one that seats 20,000. With just 7,000 permanent seats Dragon Stadium is pretty small in comparison.
Do these two stadiums have natural grass?. If yes, why MLS/Dallas never looked into bringing the team to your home town?
Re: rumor Not just a rumor. HSG President John Wagner is the guy, he pretty much was the driving force behind this move, and he pretty much said as much when the deal was announced. Of course, he was also the driving force behind the Frisco deal...
If we have to live with grid iron lines then how about some BRIGHTER yellow lines?! I can hardly see the soccer markings as a fan, how do the players/refs/goalies read them? And the penalty box & goalie box lines run UNDER the stupid letters & logos in the black endzones. Cheap-looking indeed! Give up on bitching about the football lines. How about we all band together and demand some decent soccer field markings? I feel a sign coming on!
I was at the Dallas Cup at Lake Highlands this weekend. The painted pitch sure made the whole scene lots nicer.
Forgive my ignorance, but if it's artificial turf, couldn't they in theory have 2 different playing fields?
