OK, are there going to be football lines or not?

Assume yes until you hear otherwise.

 

I was reading in Stadia magazine and they mention "Field Turf Wizard", a machine that quickly applies and removes field markings and logos.

I'm not sure if its on the website, but www.stadia.tv is the website. The Burn should buy take care of the field properly.

 

Almost certainly. I would be happy is they just painted over the horrendous end zones, but I suspect they will not.

 

I'm thinking of selling laser pointers to fans, so when the oposition is lucky enough to get into the box, they'll be confused by the red, swirling dots on the black pitch.

after SLC was announced I interviewed a PR person from Field Turf that told me that they were planning on covering the lines at SLC.

But the process to do this does have an expense and it seems that the Hunt's are gathering the info needed to decide if want to spend the money..

Remember, at some point in mid to late season, HS football is going to start back up and then Hunt will have to pay to have the lines repainted. So what do you do then? Paint and remove....paint and remove? before and after each Burn match?

While Field Turf is very positive that they can remove the lines, it appears to not be a cheap exercise.

The problem is that in Texas, they play football in the spring as well as in the fall.

 

IF this Frisco thing goes through - I can put up with anything for 2 years - gridlines being the least of my concerns.

Well, if the football marks are there, with those black ends football lines, it will worse than Cardinal stadium. False promises.

 

What is Cardinal Stadium and yes the ugly lines are still there. That is the single worst thing about Southlake followed by artificial turf and the difficulty in finding and leaving the place. However I now look at it as living in an apartment while the mansion is being built. It's not great but it will do in the short term and the long term looks good.

 

So all the promises were false. The opening game on ESPN2 next Saturday will embarrassed the entire league

The burn are getting a stadium... but I don't care. I am gonna be a whiny little brat because there are lines on the field. Boo Hoo.



So the lines look bad, big freaking deal.
Get over it.

The Burn are getting a $65 million stadium.
When your team is in danger of contraction, and the only thing that kept them alive was the possibility of this new stadium... then you deal with the lines because it means you get to keep your team.

Go ask Fusion and Mutiny fans if they would take a team but could only get one with lines on the field.

 

Can't the Burn just place the goals at the front of the End Zones. Then they can place some artificial grass over the end zones to hide the black paint and logos. This technique was used during last years World Cup to hide the running tracks at some stadiums. I

I know that the field would be shorter, but it would look a lot better than having to play on that end zone paint.

I don't really care about the lines, but I understand why some people are upset. When the initial annoucement was made, there was some talk of painting over the lines. Many people believed there would be a good faith effort to rid the pitch of these lines. In reality, I don't think the Burn ever intended this to happen. They knew the cost would be prohibitive. It would have been much better if they would have been truthful about the lines all along. Many of us fans have enough sense to understand why the move was made. Now that the a new stadium is going to be built, the lines don't really seem to be much of an issue. I just wish they had been straightforward from the outset. Overall, the Burn management have done a fantastic job and this fan really can't complain.

I don't recall anybody promising that the lines would be painted over.

 

We will see how Dragon Stadium look like next Saturday. We might be all speculating. Maybe the lines are gone, maybe not. We will see.
