I was thinking this yesterday, with Alaba we’ve got a threat from direct free kicks for the first time in a long time.

His father George came to Vienna in 1984, studied German and started studying economy - but gave up his studies to start a career as musician. With his band "Two in One" they even had a single on rank to in the Austrian charts.

Alaba tests positive for Covid. He hasn’t arrived yet and he’s already out. This is going to be a very long season.

Unlikely to be ready to go to for the first game of La Liga on August 14th. Even if he tests negative, his fitness probably won’t be up to speed

 

Alaba tests positive for Covid-19 and should be considered questionable for August 14th against Alaves. He will need to test negative and then improve his form and conditioning before rejoining the team, which seems unlikely given how pressing the schedule is.

It’s just speculative, though. He has two weeks to overcome the virus and get match fit without any preseason match minutes under his belt. Unlikely he will be in optimal form, if available

LV? what's the problem Carva? i haven't read he's had any issues, has he? also, yeah, unfortunately i think we'll be seeing much more of Marcelo ( never thought i'd ever have to type that) initially before we see Miguel

 

He’s not fit, still hasn’t even worked with the group yet, it’s possible that he be ready before the season kicks off, if so then yea he starts. Yea there is a high chance we see Marcelo, just hoping that Carlo is not that insane lol.

I think unless Ferland is miraculously ready then we'll see that insanity initially, even if just because of the armband, hope i'm wrong

So both Ferland and Carva and possibly David ruled out already, at least for the first game, not good, wonder who else i've missed that isn't quite fit who would normally start

 

As far as I know Carvajal and Mendy are the only starters who aren’t fit but I didn’t read anything alarming about Dani’s case, it’s just a matter of working his way back to fitness, we should know by the Milan game if he’ll be ready.
