HEy GUys. I want to find out what everyone here thinks of Romania's national team. The team has players from all over Europe. They have talented players like Contra,Niculae,Mutu,Chivu but cannot seem to accomplish anything. I am curious to know your opinions on this.

I thought about shipping it off to the UEFA board but I suspect you're looking for opinions from a wider audience than just those who frequent the UEFA board - hence your posting here on the FIFA board. Perhaps The Beautiful Game board would be a good choice. ... moved with redirect ... My own opinion ... I was terribly impressed by them back in the '94 World Cup. Less so in '98. They seem to have fallen off the map since then. It's a shame. They played some beautiful soccer.
Re: ... Moderator's Note ... They did beat England in 1998.... and beat them again at Euro 2000. I thought they looked good at Euro 2000. They were too afraid of the Germans. They saw them as the old Germany of mid-90`s. They sat back.... and held for a draw. Portugal beat them with a fluke goal. They were as good as the Portugese for 90 minutes. They outplayed England in their last game. I won alot of money on that game. I doubled my bet after England scored first!!! Romonia was so much better that I knew they would beat England. Too bad... they could not qualfy for J/K.
I've always enjoyed the Romanian style of play. They were within inches of J/K '02, but I believe lost their home leg to Slovenia. While they obviously had a lot of great players, probably having a superstar like Hagi helped them go further than they could have otherwise. He always seemed to me like one of those players that can make people rise their full potential.
Re: Re: Re: ... Moderator's Note ... Even with 5 minutes left, the game still tied.... I knew Romania was going to win. I kept adding wager before Romania scored. My account was left with no money.
