And the sad thing is, we can't even root for the opposing Kraft team, should they move on.

Kraft v Galactoscum what a dismall final!

I hate to admit this--this might be the time they get the monkey off their back...

If the Revs are the opponent they will not beat the home team.

If the Crew is in the Final, they might have a chance but they will have motivation to win after last year...

Personally, I hope the Galactos lose... if they win...

I mean to tell ya! If it was a team from Siberia up against the Galaxatives, I wouldn't root for LA.

Did you get a chance to watch the Revs vs. Columbus? Man down (Heaps was red-carded for a head-butting of F. Garcia) and they beat the Crew on their home field. I have never seen the Revs D play that well. Llamosa was big, really big.

If the Revs advance, that means Heaps can play in the final and form the "Official Carlos Ruiz Hacking Squad". Thank god for the first-to-five.

That's what he did in this afternoon's game against Freddy Garcia, who in my mind has great resemblance to Carlos (the foul looked to be for Heaps retaliating after he had been hacked by Garcia. One of those where the second foul is more obvious). Problem is that Heaps is going to miss this next game. He should be there for the final if the Revs win or tie against Columbus in the next game.

Well, it's very much looking like a Revs - Gals final. The Crew would need to win in New England and follow that up with a win in the mini-game or shootout to advance. I don't like their chances.

However, I do like the Revs chances in the final. They're playing at home, and the simple fact is that defense wins championships. The Revs defense is on fire--they've only given up three goals in the last nine games! Sure, L.A. shut out Colorado the last two games, but they gave up eight goals in the Kansas City series. I'm going with the Revs.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Revs in order to get to see Twellman play. First and last time I saw him was at the very beginning of the season before he broke. Only saw 20 minutes of him and he didn't have a chance to make a impact. Also, MLS Confidential reports 6 Revs in camp for the USMNT game in November.

Galaxy seem way too hot to go 0-4.

I'll take LA, 7-6 on Ruiz' winner (and fifth goal of the match) in the 92nd minute. Twellman will score all six for NE in the losing effort.

If it's LA-C'bus, then we'll never know the outcome. It will be 0-0 long, long into overtime, and ABC will have cut away in many markets by that point so local affiliates can show bass fishing or infomercials, or whatever the hell it is they show on Sundays when everyone else is watching NFL.

I don't like LA or NE. However, there is one player on LA that I would be happy to get a ring...Cobi Jones. His play has been awesome since returning from the WC. In fact, he has probably played better than any other returning player from the WC.

Also, I don't mind that he gave Conrad a push into the bench. It was only Conrad...

again, Im going to go with the age old statement, better to have won once than never won at all. Once you know how it feels to hold the MLS cup, please go back to your own board and quit the smack talk here. Thanks, and Good bye.

Big ask for the Revs, now...with Heaps and Twellman both out.

    Still better them than LA.

    Better anyone than LA.

Jones did his job in the WC, it's no wonder Mexicans hate him, and I applaud him for a job well done. However, when he plays for LA, as far as I am concerned he is a rat, albeit a clever little rat (the way he suckered Eddie Robinson on that foul in the box is the mark of a wiley old veteran rat). The above is also one point which I would stand 180 degrees in opposition to you. I was hoping that Jimmy would have taken the little rat and dropped him on his head on the concrete.

I might miss getting to watch the Cup. It just hit me an hour or two ago that I have to help with the Homecoming float.

I'll be cheering for the Revs anyhow...

Re: Re: Re: Oh, No!! (R)

I've been an Ipswich Town supporter for over 20 years. Town fans still cling to their one FA Cup win ('78) and one UEFA Cup win ('81) so I've tried it and am very glad LA have had much more consistancy at the top. ;)

BTW, I'm sure you guys will be excited to hear that Frank Yallops name keeps poping up on various discussion lists as a possible replacement for George Burley. I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that I make sure to remind everyone how his team managed to choke away their season. You should be ok now that they all know last seasons production by Yallop was simply a fluke and they are taking him less seriously as a candadate now. :p
