My sis is like "can't watch the news, don't want to hear shit about him or his appointees or Project 2025" I'm like "well I'm a P&CE super-poster (when not carded for no gdamn reason ) and it's good to know what angle Trumpism is comin at ya" You have to stay on your toes to some extent.
It's funny regarding eggs. Just a point of fact in case someone is reading this that doesn't know: egg prices are likely to get worse as deregulation really ramps up and public health is defunded and more bird flu rips through the populations of chickens as a result.
Yeah. But nothing I do…or anyone else does..will change that. The only thing that will make it better is being prepared for it. It’s gonna happen. The only positive available is to get enjoyment out of the suffering of those who chose this…or were too apathetic to care…or believed both sides were the same…or wanted to tear it all down…or teach Dems a lesson. Otherwise you’ll go insane. Me…I’m just a genuinely positive person and will look for the bright side in any situation. And for those I just described…the brightness will be blinding
I have the tomatoes, squash and cukes in the garden for when they go up to $10 each. Maybe I can talk the Mrs into a few chickens. Plus a duck perhaps.
next alpointment? Casey Anthony in charge of child care policies? Matt Gaetz to crack down on child trafficking?
Leopards just ate some faces. Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel. All those anti-Kamala Gaza voters will be shocked to learn the new Israel ambassador is a conservative Christian who doesn't believe Palestinians even exist as a meaningful ethnicity. Gaza and West Bank? Bye, bye, bye.
That's 140 or so square miles of undeveloped land now, as far as Israel and its closest ally are concerned. Nice job contrarian voters!
Boebert for NEA - which up until now stood for National Endowment of the Arts, but when she takes over will stand for National Exercise of her Arms.
https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-...ns-who-backed-trump-urge-him-fulfill-promises Letter to Trump from Arab Americans surprised that the leopard has developed a taste for their faces, too. "In response to your renowned letter addressed to Lebanese Americans dated October 26th, 2024, and due to the escalation of Israeli attacks subsequent to the US election, we are urging your administration and transition team to apply your political influence in demanding an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon and Palestine," said the letter. "This aligns to the commitment toward lasting peace which you made in the letter and in person while signing the Peace Plaques," it added. "The over 3.5 million MENA Americans, some of whom reside in the swing states, are proud to have contributed to your margins of victory, particularly in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Your success is a testament to your resonance with the values and concerns of MENA Americans," the letter said. Trump is all transaction, all the time. And they expect him to honor his word.
I am with Tom Nichols on these people. They made the decision. The moral responsibility for it is on them. Ditto all the ball achingly cool Genocide Kamala 'leftists'. of New York ... Unfortunately it will be mostly other people who pay for it.
If you were a single-issue voter member of the Palestinian diaspora, the sad truth is that there were no good options for you this election cycle. Unless you believe that a year of begging the Biden admin to try and protect the vulnerable people who were dying in Gaza did anything at all. Oh look, that thirty day ultimatum about insufficient aid entering Gaza is about to run out. What is that? Biden admin announced there will still not be any consequences? I sort of feel the same way about Climate Change myself. The choice was between a party which claims to understand the seriousness of the problem but still oversaw an oil permit surge these past four years and a party of muppets who claim to not even believe it's a real thing. Both options are disastrously bad considering how little time is left to attenuate the worst outcomes. This is besides the point that the Trump admin part deux will quite obviously be exhaustively horrible.
But there's a bad option and a worse option, and if they didn't choose the bad option, they end up supporting the worse option. The worse option is objectively worse than the bad option in both of those areas (Palestine and climate change), and it comes with an extra layer of corruption frosting to go with the shit cake.
Right but these people never understand that change requires exercising real political power. In a normal political environment, they could indeed market their vote to the party that would give them a seat at the table. But letting a fascist into the white house is the worst possible idea because now they will never get a seat.
And also Biden did take massive climate change action with the limited power he had! All of that will be undone now. Its so idiotic, and those people own it.
Unfortunately people believe their vote is something that is supposed to make them feel good. If you want to feel good, go to a spa. Voting is just a way we fill political offices. If you fill vacancies on the water board where you live by elections, do you pick the candidate that makes you feel good?
Yep. Fvck them. Naive idiots. Do they think the old left won political victories by voting for the tories? Did they fck.
Also - if you vote for Pete Hegseth as SecDef, good luck to your foreign policy dreams. Like it's just so dumb I can't with these people.
All this--plus, a lot of people seem to think that WHY they vote matters more than what they actually vote for.
