I had a Trump supporter I play golf with ask me about ACA and advice on enrolling now or keep his COBRA until April. I told him things were up in the air due to the change in administrations and he said he thought whatever Trump would implement would be “better”.

I didn’t push it, really no reason at this point, but I will absolutely be updating this thread when he realizes, as a 61 year old retiree, he is about to get bent over.

Saw an interview of Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation and one of the chief guys behind Project 2025, on Bloomberg this morning.

The interview covered Project 2025 quite a bit, including the agenda to 'burn down' the ivy league colleges, FBI, Blackrock, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, WEF etc. He said the term 'burn down' is metaphorical. Some ominous stuffs were said about trans people as well.

The leopards are definitely out and about and sharpening their teeth.

Well the MAGA have won the House so the table is now fully set

One party nation .. MAGA nation, it is the boring part of Risk when you already know you lost and you gotta watch them take the rest of the map..

I am deadly curious to see how bold they go now.. do they even pretend to care about old rules and regs?

do the Bidens, Letitia James, Jack Smith get jailed day one?

How much of this will the people actually tolerate?… enough to trigger Civil uprising?

We are seeing something awful rising in the age of instant communication and information.. who calls for resistance? will people answer the call?

My guess is that Trump, being lazy and narcissistic, will oversee minimal changes (to the benefit of private insurance companies) and will likely slap his name on it so that it’s formally called Trump Care.

Of course, I can’t rule out congress punitively eliminating it altogether, disrupting the economy and millions of lives, all to own the Libz.

I'll be curious to see if the Senate filibuster makes it a full four years or not. They won't be too pleased if Democrats prevent parts of Project 2025 from becoming law of the land.

The vengeful part of me wants them to cut social security and eliminate (not repackage/relabel) Obamacare on day one. Bring on full throttle MAGA capitalism and make the people pull themselves up by their bootstraps for survival.

The problem with this way of thinking is that so many people who did not vote for this or did not want this will suffer terribly too.

Yeah, there's that part in all of us. But demented Cheeto/Wingnut plans are going to hurt millions of Americans of all stripes. Like Mao's Great Leap Forward. Or in Donnie's case, the Great Leap Backward.

Weird shit like this happened under Mao:

The Four Evils campaign (Chinese: ; pinyin: Chú Sì Hài) was one of the first campaigns of the Great Leap Forward in Maoist China from 1958 to 1962. Authorities targeted four "pests" for elimination: rats, flies, mosquitoes, and sparrows. The extermination of sparrows – also known as the smash sparrows campaign (Chinese: ; pinyin: dǎ máquè yùndòng) or the eliminate sparrows campaign (Chinese: 消灭麻雀运动; pinyin: xiāomiè máquè yùndòng) – resulted in severe ecological imbalance, and was one of the causes of the Great Chinese Famine which lasted from 1959 to 1961, killing 20 to 30 million people. In 1960, the campaign against sparrows ended, and bed bugs became an official target

Many people that voted for the orange moron are sufficiently isolated, or old enough that they will not feel any pain. It is a terrible thing that millions that wanted to move forward will hurt, and millions that wanted this crap will not suffer the painful part of the consequences, at least in the short term.

No, I am ready for the hardship. Bring on the hardship. I'm tired of people voting Republican and then the democrats saving the country from the ideas they campaign on. They're good for the economy, they're gonna run the country like a business, they're gonna eliminate wasteful spending. Remember, the military-industrial complex spends magical freedom dollars but a pay raise for a teacher is wasteful spending. Why hasn't Elon been named to the cabinet yet?

    https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/reidout-blog/elon-musk-trump-hardship-austerity-taxes-rcna177732

Let's do those things. Lets eliminate Social Security and Medicare - stop sending those checks to the old people and have them act all surprised that the SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT sends those checks to grandma. Let's go after Harvard and Yale's endowments, maybe tax them or just have the government steal all that money to build a wall and round up immigrants. Let's get rid of the department of education, and maybe the EPA and FEMA too! Republican men are rugged individualists who don't need any help from government. I'm not sure what Health and Human Services does, let's fire everyone in that entire organization!

This is what people voted for, and then googled. I mean, some of us can read and some of us learn from experience. Let MAGA land experience what they voted for.

I'll be over here with the "I told you so" t-shirt on.

I have a really hard time being in an "us" with Elon Musk. He's a citizen, sure (I checked last night, was curious, quite a story), but is he human?

Also, government is not, nor ever has been, nor ever shall be, something to be run like a business.

Look, many of us agree that a government should not be run like a business. But MAGA-Land Republican voters keep reminding us that is why they like Trump. That they will "balance the budget." Hey, I'm just using their own (stupid) words against them.

Well yes, in my rant about faces ripe for eating, we should add:

    - Congratulations, Israel is now going to annex part (or all) of Gaza, and continue to expand settlements with US support, because that's what you voted for!

    - Congratulations, Russia is going to get a peace deal where they get all of the land they currently occupy, with agreements that the Ukraine won't be able to re-arm or join NATO, because that's what you voted for! BONUS: The US might leave NATO so Russia won't have any pesky "resistance" in the next few years to just roll into the rest of Ukraine or whatever other former Soviet area Putin wants!

But hey, egg prices are like $2.00 a dozen now.

If I were Moldova I would be getting quite nervous, with Transnistria and all. Of course, Ukraine is a buffer there.

Remember that Puerto Rican rapper that endorsed Trump only to find out on stage that Trump had no idea who he was and thought he was a chick…and then bitched out and did nothing until Trump’s favorite comedian called his island and all its people garbage and he was like…nah…that’s too far…I retract my endorsement….and then Trump won anyway?

Yeah…I’m really looking forward to seeing news about his face getting eaten. Pendejo.

Yes, I believe that Solzhenitsyn once said that one of the pleasures of the gulag was you eventually see all the people that sent you there be sent there to join you.
