The immigrant roundup sounds like a logistics nightmare.. perhaps they will round up the majorly criminal then go in TV and report they dumped out 50 million immigrants…. the only thing that makes the threat sound severe is that this is a Stephen Miller pet project and that dude looks like a full on committed true believer.. we shall see how “de-naturalization” works….

Wonder how the military chud trump lovers will feel when their buddies get rounded up.. (or those serving have their parents collected)

 

Oh Steven has been hard ever since the election. Guy is a sadist and will do everything he can to cause maximal suffering.

And you know they're incompetent enough to be bringing in folk for the Army, only to deport their families while they're enlisted. I have a brother enlisted and he is worried about what to do if orders come down to arrest or suppress "dissidents". That's the flip side of it too.

Because some people dodged some of Trump's worst ideas in 2017, they probably thought they could give him another go.

 

You know, I keep hearing this stuff from many self-proclaimed reasonable conservatives: "OMG, the left might nominate AOC or someone like Maxine Waters".
However, there is (or was) only one character on the left that I can think of who combined Trump's utter incompetency on economics and foreign policy, the ability to seduce the masses with sheer demagoguery, the utter disregard for any laws and norms and the complete lack of empathy: that is Che Guevara.
A Trump of the left does not exist right now.

You're not new here, but you don't hang out here much. I was referencing a thread you may have missed out on reading. There's a poster who's got this weird thing about trying to inject an opinion about the level of threat conservatism poses to groups of people he does not belong to. He's been fairly dismissive of standard concerns shared by women, POCs and gays. OTOH, he's made several posts suggesting that he supports Harris. Those two camps don't meet very often in the real world, so maybe grain of salt on one or the other. In any case, he's completely whiffed on what it would mean to be a perfect lefty, because he has just enough centrism is him to think that there are any decent points to social conservatism. Something about him doesn't realize that Trumpism is the highest form of conservatism.

TL;DR? the post you quoted was totally sarcastic. Search "Trump of the Left" in this forum for a few laughs when you have time.

She says her undocumented relatives "are good, they're not breaking any laws", so she thinks they will be allowed to stay. Never mind the new regime will immediately say they are breaking the law by being in the country illegally. And if she thinks she is free of the denaturalization threat, well, she has now told the entire world she came here illegally. She's now moving very high up the list that Stephen Miller is keeping. I suppose she thinks her vote for Trump will save her. What's that, her husband admitted he voted for Kamala? Adios amiga.

 

The Army bit is the most interesting one.. Trump could solve the recruitment crisis by going Starship Troopers and saying “federal service
guarantees citizenship” then when people finish out a token 2 yr contract they get automatically deported.. its almost like indentured service…and female soldiers, that sexual assault problem in the Army.. well “suffer in silence” will return
there are definitely lots of young soldiers signing up as a means to fast track to citizenship, so much so that their family members cant even attend their graduation due to legal status…
Soldiers that have been here a while probably think they wont be affected, but if Stephen Miller sees no real kickback from folks (or the American public is distracted enough) he might go after them too…. hell, Trump dislikes broken soldiers, maybe he has Musk gut the VA funding and sticks it to Veterans

 

The “Trump on the left”…. the nearest equivalent would be Mark Cuban.. he is the rich guy “know it all” that Trump portrays himself as..
He can talk trash and has the know how and speaking capabilities to probably smack down Trump… the catch is someone like Cuban would need to be given leeway to step on a few eggshells and to “stretch the truth” on some promises (literally required)…
Before any of that or any candidate can succeed the Dems need to make progress on the disinformation wars… MAGA owns that space.. Musk buying twitter gives the MAGAs a near insurmountable edge..

If Celebs wanted to attempt to be truly helpful, they could all dump twitter and other GOP controlled social media and take all their followers to populate a legit twitter “alternative” that really cracks down on lies and misinformation.. as well as to promote these talking points that they claim to care about for short spurts of time during elections..

all this storytelling talent in Hollywood, tell f’n stories about whats going on in US with ordinary folks… dont wait for the election year to care.. engage right f’n now.. I know its not their job.. but if theyre such concerned citizens that are “in this together with the public” then f’n be legit involved beyond writing a check here and there
