Of course, when that happens the blame will be placed on Democrats for not doing enough to protect everyone, rather than on Republicans for doing exactly what Republicans said they would do.

I really hope this is trolling. In my experience in my field, though, this is word for word what we hear all the time.

    Just....no.

I’m pretty sure, given his track record, usscouse is doing some serious sarcasm.

though it does sound a lot like the swarm of MAGA-ts in the election subforum.

Oh, I would absolutely agree about the argument "It was the economy".

However, this is also likely to be the rocks on which Trump’s boat will founder as well. If the American voters threw a tantrum over Biden’s inflation, we'll see what happens after several years of Trump’s “stewardship” of the economy, when Trump will surround himself with toadies, will no longer benefit from the stable Obama economy (and lack of major crises until 2020) and will be free to break things at his leisure. When 3000–4000 $ will be added to one's monthly expenses and their healthcare has evaporated, that is something which will penetrate even the MAGA brains.

Benjamin Franklin said once "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”. It seems Franklin grossly overestimated the American people. The Trump voters did not give up their liberty for safety. They traded it for cheese and sausages.

There are literally two paths forward now, from what I see.
    1. Either Trump is not able or not interested to turn United States into Russia and then, after he crashes the economy, there will be a blue wave in 2026 or 2028.
    2. Trump and his cabal do try to turn America into a Putinist democracy, at which point we will see whether the Americans are serious about standing up to tyranny (all that stuff Republicans keep bragging about).

I would have said "paper towels", given it would tie in nicely to a famous photo.

Nah, as long as they can see brown people kicked out and the blacks back in their place, MAGAts will not complain about the extra costs or the lack of healthcare.

    Bolded because I keep forgetting.

That reminds me, I should create a thread on the timeline and cause for when the Trump economic agenda starts to crash the parts of the US economy. Set it up like the board game Clue(do). I say 2026 and when he puts a tariff on imports from China.

I started this on another platform, it was overrun by trolls.

2027 because of labor shortages caused by massive deportations.

I can't imagine a Trump administration being able to actually do anything close to a massive deportation that would depress the economy. They will do token deportations here and there to be able to say they got the border under control, but no way they will be competent enough to do anything on a grand scale.

Tariffs is a different story since it's mostly "paperwork", no special logistics needed.

That only works if you assume he'll be in charge for 4 years, and they'll stop after under a new administration (either way). I wouldn't be so sure of either.

We've also seen the first obvious signs of what is to come for the rest of us who didn't vote for the leopards - specifically, all those black people who received a text about reporting to cotton plantations, slavery, etc. This was a clear message to all black people. The texts specifically targeted them, indicating "we know who you are, your phone number, where you live, etc."

There have also been reported incidents of assaults by people who use gay dating apps and supposedly are meeting up with a potential date. This is happening in Australia as well. This was how things started in Russia as well.

The campaign of fear has started, violence comes soon after.

Reports around here of school kid-bros saying "Your body, my choice!" to girls. Don't have a citation, my wife's friend's daughter reported this, etc., but oh God.

Wasn't that attributed to a Nick Fuentes post? Could be AI, of course, but I'm sure the facts will emerge one way or another.
