They will have a prisoner work in a CDL truck unsupervised except for going in and out of the prison then deny that same prisoner parole cuz they can't be trusted
The leopards are going to die of over eating at this rate. Gotta get rid of the Green New Steal so the capital class can have more tax cuts! https://prospect.org/politics/2025-05-14-house-republicans-take-aim-red-state-economies/
Especially from that cholesterol over saturated meat. There should be a ban on producing these people in order to protect the leopard species from extinction.
A long piece on a farmer (it's a gift link, so should not be behind paywall) who banked on an Ag subsidy that Trump has emperiled. https://wapo.st/409sf4c It's a subtle piece. The guy voted for Trump because he's a there's-too-much-spending-in-government, but he's really working too hard to have much time to get into the culture wars. Part of the program was that he'd bring in an immigrant on an H-2A visa, so he was doubly shafted by Trump's shenanigans. But of course, he didn't think he'd be the one stiffed by a Trump administration. He didn’t care much for politics, preferring parenting and self-help books to partisan podcasts. The fervor Trump inspired unsettled him — he’d hated trying to explain the “F--- Biden” flag outside town to his daughter — but JJ found elements of the president’s rhetoric appealing. He, too, resented that the country sent billions of dollars abroad when so many people here needed support.
That’s an innumeracy issue. Billions in foreign aid sounds awful when you see poor people around town, or have to pay your taxes. But once you put foreign aid dollars into context, and take out the money that has as a precondition buying American, it’s a frakin’ rounding error.
(For the casual reader) Most of that foreign aid, as @American Brummie alluded to, is buying American or employing Americans to provide those services abroad. DFI is more specifically building another country’s economy. And yes, we spend some billions there, but that often comes with favorable relations that extend to increased economic exchange in other areas. This is literally deal-making. At least the way smart people do it and not how it is done on reality TV.
His vote did that. The plight of several groups of oppressed minorities and one oppressed group that is not a minority were hanging in the balance on the day he voted for the party that's made second-class citizens of us. His daughter is at risk of many poor life outcomes due to either consensual sex or rape should she ever relocate to a red state, but he didn't apologize to her for his vote. The GOP made it very clear who was going to be targeted thru various types of legislation and/or executive orders, yet he was more concerned about federal spending. Maybe in Colorado she'll be okay, lol We're reading this link because he doesn't realize that he and other non-billionaire White males like him were supposed to get their vote's worth thru the increased sense of privilege- and nothing more. He thinks he's a businessman, but he's too low on the income/asset totem pole for any financial shenanigans from Trump to work in his favor. This guy tryna publicly distance himself from the True Believers when belief is all he was ever gonna get out of it?
A trio of articles from our GOP-leaning online rag: Are Trump's tariffs keeping Utahns from making big purchases? Here's what a new poll found Yep. Nearly 7,000 Utah students could lose access to after-school and summer programs The Education Dept. is being closed down, but maybe it's because of things like this that conservatives all upset And Finally: Utah loses $7.8M in federal funding to expand high-speed internet access Thanks Brandon! The requirements were too onerous, so we decided to just make it worse. Rad. Emphasis mine. Oh. 90 days to reapply. I'm sure that's plenty of time for more communities to participate. And with the new budget coming out, do you think they are really asking to increase participation when they are gutting the govt. everywhere except defense in order to pay for the extension of the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy? Yeah, that's not coming back anytime soon.
Is this Kat Cammick (R-Florida) thing true? Apparently she was denied care for her life-threatening ectopic pregnancy because of Florida's new abortion ban and blamed "the left" for why she couldn't get the care she needed. All I can find are sketchy-looking alternative sites.
Wall Street Journal ... yeah, I know. Another sketchy looking alternative site. https://archive.is/S68TW
Reuters does a panel interview of Trump voters. They are still sticking with their guy. Sara Longwell listeners will find this old hat. Only a recession will cause them to admit they made a poor choice. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/they-voted-trump-most-still-back-him-not-everything-2025-06-25/ my god.
1. What recession? We are living in the best of times!!! - Joe Maga, January 2026. Probably. 2. The recession is completely Biden's fault. - Joe Maga, June 2026. Likely.
This is his base. The same group who didn't even blink hard when Dementia Don said last year's economy was because of him and this year's economy is because of Biden.
