According to candidate Trump, on "Day 1" he is going to institute the following via Executive Orders. He has the House and Senate, so any pesky legislative support for these should be pretty easy.

1. ECONOMY

Extend the Trump tax cuts permanently
Add 10% Tariffs on all goods imported into the United States, and up to 100% from China

2. BORDER:
Close the border and round up and deport 11 million undocumented immigrants using local law enforcement and the national guard (who, I am sure, will be patient when waiting for people to provide their legal documentation).
Re-institute the "travel ban from terror-plagued countries." Sign an executive order ending birthright citizenship.

3. ENVIRONMENT: Drill, baby, drill (I'm not sure how this would change anything, as the USA is currently producing more crude oil than any country, ever - and oil companies hold 9000 unused oil drilling leases in the country)

Eliminate all climate and energy policies enacted as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, and return all unspent funds. Halt offshore wind energy projects in order to save the whales.

Eliminate all subsidies for Electric Vehicles (which might help Tesla, as they have two of the cheaper EVs and don't qualify for subsidies)

Remove Flouride from Water?
Remove restrictions on fishing Licenses?

4. LEGAL ISSUES
Fire Jack Smith "within two seconds" and punish any prosecutors and judges overseeing his criminal cases.
Pardon January 6th Riotors

5. EDUCATION
Cut funds to all schools that teach "critical race theory" and "transgender insanity."
Cut funds to all schools with a vaccine or mask mandade
Pass legislation to "keep men out of women's sports."

January 7th is gonna be lit!

I almost agree with Elon. We need to suffer. Americans have voted for a white nationalist christian evangelical nation, free of immigrants and the rule of law. They have voted for a dictator who will punish the people they don't like.

So, when they can't buy crap at wal-mart anymore because it's 2x what it used to be, and their imported foods suddenly cost too much, and the water and sky is suddenly dumping grounds for chemical plants, and their teeth fall out because there isn't any flouride, and everyone with two brain cells moves out of their failing dead-end counties, maybe they'll figure it out.

Maybe, but my bet is they'll just blame someone new - like teachers or California Liberals.

I'm wondering how many GM auto workers voted for Trump.

The government lost $11.2 billion bailing out the company ten years ago. They've recieved over a billion to convert plants to EVs rather than just shuttering them. GM is loved by the government, and employs a lot of Red Hat Magas.

However, GM is also Mexico's largest automaker, and about 20% of their cars are made in Mexico. The also make quite a few cars in Canada. But good old Trump is promising to slap a 100% tariff on cars made in Mexico, which would effect quite a few dealers, including GM, Ford, Chrysler, VW, Nissan, Audi, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes, Toyota, Tesla, Infiniti.... you get the picture. 90% of the cars made in Mexico are exported - mostly to the US of course.

So when GM Union White Guy wonders why GM stock is crashing and is going under and can't sell cars which have suddenly doubled in price, I guess his face will have been eaten.

 

I'm sure the hypothetical GM Union White Guy will have no trouble being convinced that liberal culture warriors who want boys dressed as girls to play on their high school field hockey teams are really at fault.

 

And with no affordable GM vehicles coming over the borders, Vlad the Invader will be ready with a steady stream of Skodas and Ladas. Maybe some T-34s for the Hummer crowd.

 

Hummer's will certainly come back, because gas is currently under $3 a gallon and for some reasons we're gonna start drilling more...
