Ended 1-0. Twitter said he missed last week's match as a close contact of a positive Covid case, but didn't have it himself.

Hey, look at that! He's starting! It's been a while, and I'm not sure they have anything to play for.

I want to see everyone do this. I want to do my own.

Lots of national team representation - McKennie, Yedlin, Pulisic, Steffen ... and a fascinating inclustion of Sandler whom I understand doesn't really count, but it's interesting.

Kenny subbed off in the 67th. Lechia Gdansk took the lead on an early penalty, surrendered the lead after Saief came off, but regained it on an 81st minute winner. Yellow card for Saief. Garbage time goal makes the final score 3-1 and lifts them temporarily into fourth.

From an Anderlecht announcement on their current training camp in Alkmaar:

"Luka Adzic, Zakaria Bakkali, Ognjen Vranjes, Bubacarr Sanneh, Kenny Saief, Aristote Nkaka & Adrien Trebel are not in the selection of the stage and will not be part of the A group this season. A sporting solution is explored with the entourage of each player."

During his 2019/2020 season on loan with Lechia Gdańsk, Saief registered an assist and 8 yellow cards in 1,355 minutes of play (22 appearances including 16 starts) in the Ekstraklasa. Lechia Gdańsk finished in 7th.

Saief also played 76 minutes (1 start) in the Polish Cup. Lechia Gdańsk were eliminated in the Round of 16.

He refused to terminate his contract so he will probably not play at all this season.
He makes 800k, the clubs that might want him cant afford that.

My French is a bit rusty, but I think it translates to "Good luck in Israel and don't let the door hit you on the way out" :(

Sure it's being reported that way. And it is a one-year loan, at the end of which Kenny will be out of contract and rid of Anderlecht.

It's just that I highly doubt that Ashdod is picking up much of Kenny's salary, let alone the customary 50%. With him standing his ground with Anderlecht, their only other options - keeping him on-site at the training ground or putting him on "gardening leave" - would leave them picking up all of his 800k salary and with him/his situation hanging around the place like a bad smell.

That alone puts Ashdod in the driving seat. Added to which is that they are a cheap club - they haven't spent even 300k euros on buying anyone in the last 5 seasons, so why would they spend 400k or anything close to it on wages for a one-season loanee? I'd be surprised if Ashdod are paying more than 250k from his salary.
