People will forget about what he did if no court case or anything happens. He isn't Kobe or Mike Tyson. Besides, I do not expect him to be in a big club. And he will generate a huge transfer fees. Many footballers have done horrible things and move onward.
Glad that we didn't renew him last summer. He's still on relatively low wages. Marca has an article today about RM going after Rudiger and Chelsea unwilling to match his 12 ME nett demands. Our backline next season could be Carva - Rudiger - Militao - Alaba.
This may be terrible to say, but I really don't see this happening either. The fact that not even fringe tabloids seem to be acknowledging the allegation, I think this all gets pushed under the rug. If nobody speaks a word of this except for this Romain Molina guy, I don't see any consequences at all. It will be interesting to see if Ancelotti gets a question about it, but it's unlikely. Talks about selling him are very premature. I would say it's still just as likely that we extend him.
People already making up starting lineups after he is sold. Very premature. This is how you ruin someone’s career. All it takes is one allegation and you’re done. I’m all for running him out of the club but IF he is proven guilty. It’s too early.
She was in ICU due to him. Given all the proofs including police report, I am inclined to believe this. He paid her off so nothing legal could come out of this unless she decides to press charges now.
Again, I don't think any of this is actually verified or will ever be verified. This Romain Molina guy made all sorts of accusations yesterday, not just on Ferland. Everything from pedophilia rings to drug circles to fixed matches. Somehow, no one else seems to be picking up any of these stories. I'm still taking this story with a major grain of salt.
Accounts like Actufoot reported what he said. Matter of time before mainstream media picks this up if they haven't already. He has a book coming up next year so there will be a huge aftermath after that. Some will dismiss this initially just like what Football leaks reported, but have a strong feeling all this cover up will turn out to be true. Some other French journalists also shared horrific stories of cover ups in Africa and France in his space podcast.
so we’d have to buy out 3 years worth of his contract if it turns out to be true and we wanted to part ways, I doubt any team would get near him if this story picks up steam. such a shame. If true you have to wonder what made him be an alcoholic and ultimately an abuser, fits the profile of someone who was abused themselves.
Do you guys think Perez knew? There's nothing he doesn't know. Mendy may be an awful human. But it says a lot about the nature of French footballers. They're by far the most dramatic group of people I've seen. This is the umpteenth case involve women/sexual abuse.
Not sure Perez and ZZ would have gone for 48 ME transfer if they knew. Not like he was a bargain. Aulas covered it up and got the maximum fee he could.
First of all, I’m in no way condoning Mendy’s behaviour in this situation, abuse to a women, in any form, is inexcusable to me. However, I’m not so convinced that this will lead to a player sale, contract termination, etc. I’m not close to any of the details, but if this is a case that has already been settled, took place a while ago, if he’s not a repeat offender (my assumption) and he has profusely apologised, etc. could it be that this just simply blows over? Once again, I am in no way making excuses for a potential punishment, but the club may see this as a “second chance” situation.
Lately everything seems to go Perez's way. It's like his work is all connecting together and it's showing. Wow. https://t.co/en152IIktD— Ace (@RMxAce) November 19, 2021
So far this story hasn't picked any steam at all. And given there was never any charges, or proven crime committed apart from a typed report I could do in 5 mins, then life goes on. Until the alleged victim comes out and complain, I'm with the innocent till proven otherwise.
hmmmmm think you might be onto something here (I know this is a bad post and stereotypes are bad but I couldn’t pass it up sorry )
If Perez couldn’t find out that Hazard was worthless in training, playing Mario Kart and eating Burger King - how the heck would he have known about allegations of assault from Mendy? Logic runs thin on these boards….
Honestly, sounds like a true monster of a person. Screw this guy if this is even remotely true. I don't know how you can come even close to doing something like this without being an absolute monster or intoxicated out of your damn mind.
Yes I'm sorry guys. Don't mean to sound like I'm stereotyping. I just mentioned it based on an observation given the Benz, Ribery, Nasri drama they've had before and this year two Mendys, the rumoured Theo Hernandez errr .. incident. No offence intended. It's unfair to see all french players in those lenses.
Perez also cares for the club reputation. I see he couldn't have known and went ahead and bought a ticking time bomb scandal.
He was intoxicated, but it still speaks to a deep issue within him, lot of people get drunk but they don’t beat people up when they do.
